My dd is a level 4. They have toyed with the kip at practices before, but nothing consistent. I would like for her to have a jump on it. I don't want to help her with it at home, but would like some exercises/conditioning that she could do at home to prepare her body/muscles for the kip.

Any exercises or suggestions on strength training for the kip would be helpful....thanks in advance.

when my dd was getting her kip her coach gave her a list to tackle at home. You need a chin up bar.
They included things like
leg lifts sets of 10 fast up slow down
inverted hang (like a dish upsidedown on the bar)for 10
hang toes touching the bar - push up to inverted hang shape and down - sets of 10 - my dd needed me to support her bottom to do this.
dish hold on floor for 20
holding a weight behind you lie on tummy and raise weight up and down with both hands 25.
10 chin ups

I can't remember any more. anyway we did them religiously for a month and she got her kip so they worked. (she had been close for a long frustrating time!)

Good luck it is such a hard move.

Beam deductions

Hi everyone! I’m hoping to get some help understanding my deductions on beam. I’ve been watching my videos back, but I’m having trouble figuring out exactly where the judges are taking the most off. If anyone is willing to take a look and give me some feedback, I’d really appreciate it. I’m especially curious about execution deductions, rhythm/connection issues, and anything in my acro or dance that might be costing me. The judge started me at a 10 for this routine, and I got a 9.1
