Hello all, My son is a Level 7 MAG athlete and we just switched gyms. What are the biggest red flags I should watch for at this level, especially regarding coaching and equipment safety for the boys' program?

This is a hard question to answer. You should certainly be aware of the gym culture and overall vibe. You should pay attention to the frequency and pattern of injuries on the team. And, as always, pay attention to your son’s enthusiasm for attending practices. If you have more specific questions, I can offer more specific advice. Level 7 is generally a flexible and fun level, but it comes at an age when gymnasts are often growing and therefore at risk for a variety of injuries. Plan to find a good physiotherapist. Good luck!
