Jard.the.gymnast Coach Gymnast May 7, 2017 #2 It's about age. Junior A is youngest and senior F oldest. The exact ages for each group are on the site of JO nationals

sfts Coach Judge May 7, 2017 #3 As Jard said, groupings are decided by age: http://www.jonationals.com/wp-content/uploads/17agegroupchart.pdf The age groups vary every year. They were decided by splitting all gymnasts across the country who had qualified for a regional championship meet into roughly equal groups by age.
