if they continue to say it can be skipped, don't do it. explain that its not skippable, and you would like to se an email from USAG stating that it is before letting your daughter skip'. it can mess her up. its also easily found in the Code of Points.

It's going to be the Xcel version of a National Championship sponsored by USAG. So yes, I believe it will be competitive appropriately for the levels involved.
Xcel is a different path than DP. The timer vaults are designed for levels 6/7 to get ready for flipping vaults in level 8. Xcel at this time is not designed the same way. Gold and Platinum are not the same as level 6 and 7.
You do not score higher by doing "harder" skills. There is no bonus in Xcel except for Sapphire. You will only score higher if you compete cleaner than everyone else.
I always found the reversible thing weird and a little unsanitary. I know in our gym, the coach had to make a rule that they weren't allowed to go to the bathroom and reverse them halfway through practice. 😂
