you can find lots of TV show themes on the various floor music sites, like FloorExpressMusic.com, energym.com, and others. If you google it, you can find a lot of the sites. Some of them you can actually email and request music if they don't already have it on their site. Of course, there is...
The state team leotards are special and only for the ones who made the state team. The regional leotard is for anyone who qualified to regionals. It will be for sale at the regional competition in Region 8 while supplies last, well at least our state's will be. I'm not sure about each state...
Of course it's a blanket statement because it's my opinion in response to the question. I don't mean every Xcel program does the things I said, but Its done that way more than it's not, from my observations and experience. But of course not every gym does it.
It helps a lot. My oldest gymnast started in ballet at age 4. At age 6 I let her take a gymnastics class, and just watching the class I noticed that she was generally better than the others (seriously, I wasn't being THAT mom😂). Anyway, after class the coach came to me and asked if she had ever...
We always joke around that if you want to score your first 10.0, go to Florida.
I have seen many a "Perfect 10.0" on YouTube with obvious errors that even the untrained eye can see, so I sometimes wonder what the judges are looking at? I wouldn't say certain regions judge harder than others...
You only mentioned some of the things I said. But it's not the same to hold girls back in Compulsory as it is in Xcel. In Compulsory, the routines are scripted and everyone does the same routines and the same skills. In Xcel, the "easiest" skills can deliberately be chosen to ensure really high...
I've been around that long as well. I have been through the change from Prep Op to Xcel, the many rewrites of the Code, the constant updates, and judged thousands and thousands of routines. Plus I have a kid in Xcel, I had one in Prep Op and One in Jr Olympic. I stand by my opinions.
Does anyone know where the table is that shows which regions do not have enough level 10 athletes to fill in some age groups, and which regions the gymnasts will be chosen from to fill those slots?
In Region 8, you had to declare the evening of the last session at state meet whether or not your gymnast was going to attend regionals. Your gym would have taken care of that. If you declared that your gymnast will attend, unless it's an injury preventing her from attending, she is expected to...
Yes. The ability to bypass difficult skills and compete the easiest ones from the list means gymnasts will choose to not be challenged and learn the higher skills so that they will always win at meets. Choosing more difficult skills is not rewarded at meets. The requirements for the levels are...
