Anon Clear hip to kip-how to not hit feet on ground

My daughter hits her feet on the ground when doing her clear hip back into a kip. It has improved and now she is barely touching her feet but she competes in a week and would like to fix this. Any advice for her? Thanks!

WAG How many deductions for hitting your feet on the bar?

So recently, I competed at Level 8 and hit the bar on my double flipping dismount. Obviously, I fell but I'm curious how much they take. Is it 0.5 (Fall)+ the hit? I'm also curious about what score I could've gotten. My score was 8.4.

WAG Conditioning to help keep feet from hitting floor after pirouette

Looking for some help on what kind of conditioning/strength training my kid can do that will help her with her pirouette. She consistently hits her feet on the floor after her pirouette. I would like to leave the actual “gymnastics“ of the pirouette to her coach. She has struggled with a couple...

    WAG Sticky/sweaty feet

My daughter is working on full turns on beam. According to what she told me, her foot barely moves when turning. When she uses chalk, it doesn't help too much and makes her feet hurt from the friction. The chalk also melts off after doing only a couple of turns. Does anyone have suggestions? She...

WAG Feet together in Gymnastics stance

They say to put feet together in gymnastics stance, before doing eg: Back Handspring or Backtuck. I currently weight lift 300lb Leg Squats. So when my feet are together, my legs and thighs are always touching/pressed together from Leg muscle size increase. Unfortunately, weightlifting can make...

Parents Ankle pain from flat feet! How help?

Hi! I’m new to posting here. Looking for any help anywhere I may find some! My 13-y/o daughter (4th year on team, USAIGC) has developed persistent ankle pain which has worsened so they’re very sore for a day or even more after every practice. Ortho says her flat, pronating feet may likely...

T&T Feet sliding on floor & it's not a new floor

Any suggestions are appreciated! My daughter is 8yo, last night she needed to take tumbling test which she should've passed. She didn't. For whatever reason her feet were slipping on the floor. I watched her do the very first thing, a backbend and then she was constantly trying to reposition...

    WAG Foot/Ankle injuries

Has anyone had any injuries to their ankle or foot? If so, what was the diagnosis? How much time did you take off, if any? What was the healing process? Is it still causing you pain/discomfort? 3 weeks ago I did a half on-half off vault and felt a sharp pain in my heel as I was running, fast...

Parents Flat feet = poor releve

So my kiddo has really flat feet. Like really flat. Nothing to do for them really as they are "flexible flat feet" not "fixed ...we just help her strengthen her ankles to she is less prone to sprains. I have recently noticed, though, that she has a tough time getting her feet to look pretty, for...

    Parents Foot issues

I'm about to take my 8 year old to see a foot doctor for what I think is plantar fasciitis because of all the barefoot stuff she does in gym and then is constantly in socks/bare feet in our house. When I had it, the biggest thing that helped was wearing birckenstocks around the house. Has...

    Coaches Feet cramp

This is not looking for medical advice, just experiences of others. New for me this year are 4 hour coaching sessions. It's on a gymnasium floor, so I have to wear shoes (I usually don't when I coach in the actual gym, where everything is carpeted). My feet, especially the bottom, are...

WAG Bruised foot from BT on beam

DD is suffering from a very bruised foot from doing standing back tucks on beam. It is preventing her from getting in her reps/routines before Easterns. It is the the inside of the back foot when she lands. Is there anything she can do to help this or is this another one of those things that...

WAG Training while not weight-bearing on foot

Hi there, I posted earlier that my DD fractured the third metatarsal of her foot. Dr. said no gym for two weeks as the bone is in four pieces and needs to be treated delicately to come back together. After that, she'll go back and do what she can safely do. Trick is she can not weight bear...

    Excercises for Broken foot?

Ok guys, I broke my left foot about a month ago, and I am now allowed to put weight on it (with a boot). I obviously can't do gymnastics, but my season starts in November and I need to be as prepared as possible. My parents don't want to pay for me to be in the gym if I can't do anything, which...

Parents How long after foot fracture?

I'm not looking to push her or heal faster. DD fractured the growth plate in her foot almost 7 weeks ago and sprained the top of the foot ligiments 4 weeks in a cast/crutches and she is on week 3 of a walking boot. She adhered to the strict no mobility rule. Ortho gave her a clear to take...

    Flat feet :(

Hey guys! So, I am feeling extremely discouraged at the moment. I just competed at a kind of hard meet, and I still got an 8.9 on floor. I have worked so hard for a nine. Even to the extent of changing my tumbling passes! Anyway, I have very flat feet which are extremely annoying because from...

    Parents Conditioning with broken foot

I am putting together different ways to condition with a broken foot. My daughter, L9, will be in a cast for two more weeks and then a boot for three and she is looking for a structured conditioning plan. Any thoughts would be great. Thanks!

Parents Help puncture wound in his foot!!

Boys will be boys, I guess. My DS jumped out of a tree right on to a drywall nail at the park, it went through his shoe and into his foot about 1/4 of a inch. It hurts. There really isn't any reason he can't walk on it but I am toying with crutches for tomorrow at school because the pressure...
