My daughter hits her feet on the ground when doing her clear hip back into a kip. It has improved and now she is barely touching her feet but she competes in a week and would like to fix this. Any advice for her? Thanks!

Don't try to glide low to the ground when coming under the bar. Bring the feet up high... close to the bar... then out... then into the kip.

This video is a little fast and crazy... but you will get the idea...

This video shows it better... see how the feet are up by the bar when gliding under...

OP can adjust the playback speed in the settings :)

Great advice - I will also add some athletes start to think about the kip before finishing the clear hip in support. Pulling feet down to glide early, makes the clear hip angle worse and the kip potentially harder.

Do you work on drop kips? Our girls do these for warmups every practice up through level 7. Then Kip cast handstand Kip cast handstand Kip cast handstand in a row.
