I posted this in the parent forum. Then I thought gymnasts & coaches would benefit most from watching them, so decided I should post them here too:). My DD has over come many fear issues following the teachings of Alison Arnold. I recently found an 8 segment video series on www.gymnastike.org ...
So i started at this gym two summers ago and they had just hired this new director. Well, she turned out to be a real jerk and she got fired. Then they looked for another one and there was this amazing coach that tried out for the job, and they didn't hire her!! I was really mad along with...
So, I know how some kids are just naturally super flexible, but not in this family. How big of an issue is that for a 4 yo just starting gymnastics? Sitting down she can straddle maybe 100 degrees, and with her legs straight in front of her she can just touch her ankle bones. I know she gets it...

I am just wondering if anyone has any suggestions for a gymnast with confidence issues. My daughter just tenses up at meets on beam but at practice she looks absolutely gorgeous on beam. I have attributed some of it to how fast she has progressed through the levels - she never competed level 6...
