Okay coaches need your help. I have a level 9 that is afraid to do a Pirouette into her overshoot from high bar. She will go for the overshoot as long as it's not coming out of the Pirouette. Can you guys give me some suggestions for a bar routine? Thanks
DD was just told by her coach that her goal sheet had to have a bar release move (I guess it becomes a priority from a training perspective if it's on the goal sheet). DD said that she needs a"transitional" release and it has to go from the high bar to the low bar (not vice versa) for level 9...
1) Can someone give me examples of B dismounts on beam for L9? My daughter's dismount is hurdling to her RO and then a full. Seems like she is struggling with that again. One coach said her problem is she is hurdling crooked. So she suggests doing a standing RO to full. My daughter said...
My daughter isn't showing stress but I am internally stressed!
I don't know the specifics of Level 9....feel like I hear people talking about bonus skills?? But I'd be pretty sure she is doing the very basic stuff :-)
It all causes me stress to watch!
Wish me luck to watch!
My daughter turned 11 in September and has her first level 9 meet on Dec 1st. She had a rough level 8 season last year (highest AA was in the 34s) and her confidence was shaken since she didn't get many medals . I really thought she would repeat level 8 but she had a great summer and here we are...
kip cast handstand to an overshoot in handstand ... is that bonus?? Now I didn't say half pirouette ... I'm talking if the kid just did kip cast handstand right into the overshoot that goes to handstand? Sorry guys I'm weak on this bonus stuff, not even gonna lie ::laughs::
First meet yesterday....all skills are not solid so DD started at a 9.0 on bars and a 9.7 on vault....did great with her new floor routine...fell on beam twice...so lots to work on!
looking for level 9 bonus series other then BhS layout step-out ... have a kid that has a horrible crooked bhs and won't go for the layout step-out ... tried fixing the bhs but the damage was done before I got there and she won't correct it. Any suggestion for another level 9 bonus series?
Due to having bony impingement in both hips and having to get double hp surgery once season is done I have stopped doing beam, and given multiple restrictions on the other three events. I was just wondering why, as a level 9, that I am not allowed to attend Westerns as a specialist even if I am...
On bars for level 9's does it matter if they do the pirouette on low bar or high bar? and can they do a half pirouette or are they required to do a full turn?
I would love to get some coach/parent opinions on this concept. My daughter got her new floor routine and despite tumbling being her strong suit, and dance being her nemesis, they choreographed her a level 9 routine with only 2 tumbling passes.
Her coach told her 3 passes aren't necessary at 9...
My daughter is currently a 11 yo, L9. We switched gyms in the early part of last season. The policy of the new gym for new gymnast is to forfeit the season. She only had one L9 meet under her belt at the old gym. This summer, the new coach told us we have two options, she can compete L9 this...
A friend asked me this ... She was looking at gyms and commented, why do some gyms say they
Train up to Level 8, some to Level 9, and some to 10?
What's the difference? Experience of coaches? Equipment? Both?
Not sure exactly what it is.... I think its called level 9 Western regionals? Its just a few minutes from our house, so we thought we would go support our new gym!
We are very excited! She just turned 6yo, so she will be amazed.
In fact, she asked if the girls would be doing RO BHS BHS BT BHS...
I just stumbled on this website and forum, so bear with me if I am not posting correctly. My wife and I are desparately looking for help for our daughter, a gymnast for 10 years. For the last 4 years, she has battled a recurring groin issue. Its not a simple groin muscle pull. I have had...
So out of 362 AA competitors at Level 9 region 8 championships, 90 of the girls competing AA did not score the 34 (which was required at state to compete at Regionals.) This is 25% of the girls which seems really high. So, do you think the regional scoring was really tough, the state scoring...
