WAG Does a great coach trump an established good program?

We are almost certainly about to change gyms. My child is 5, in an um, elite track I guess program (IDP) and currently trains 12 hours a week. There is a good chance that she will end up picking ballet over gymnastics when it becomes impossible to do both. The gym choices are: A) Following the...

WAG How is your non-homeschool TOPs program structured?

I am interested to hear how gyms structure TOPs programs-- particularly ones for non-home schooled kids where all the gym time is non-school hours. For example, is it extra days a week completely separate from USAG? is it integrated into regular lvl training hours and girls are split into...

Parents Advice: considering leaving JO program for Xcel

My daughter is 6 years old, only been doing gymnastics for 2 years and currently training for Level 2 comp season in the JO program. She learns very fast, and was very successful competing the new Level 1 for 2013-2014 season, with first All-around at every comp including the State...

MAG If/when to look for a boys program?

DS is 4yo and goes to the same gym as big Sis. He is in the kinder gym class for boys/girls. Unfortunately, this gym is a well-known WAG gym. There are a couple of boys classes, but I don't think anything above a "basic" level 1 or 2 class. So, I know that if DS were to continue with...

    Changes in the WAG program

So next year when they change to deleting the state stream where does this leave us with competition season. State stream competes over the winter and Nationals competes over summer. Will state streamers go with 2 competition seasons in a row. Or go 1 year with out competing?

    WAG REC program

I was just wondering how the REC programs are run at most gyms. Does your gym have event coaching or does the same coach stay with one group. How are the girls split up? Is there certain curriculum for each "level" or group or do coaches come up with what is best for their group? And, how are...

MAG Gyms in/near Hattiesburg, MS with boys program

Okay, so the title says most of it. We have a very nice family at our gym with a young boy who we invited to team. They are a military family and are being relocated to Hattiesburg, MS. We are very sad to see them go, but they would like to keep him in gymnastics! What are some gyms you would...

Coaches Priorities for leisure centre program

I was around a couple of years ago but disappeared for a while. I was looking around on the internet and figured what I really wanted was to ask other coaches what they thought. So here I am back! I'm looking for advice on prioritising equipment for purchasing, and also on using the things I...

What future is there for gymnasts in the NDP program?

Hi. My daughter is 7 and in NDP Level 2. Our gym only offers club or national. Is there any future in the national stream? What will my daughter acheive besides strength and flexibility. She trains hard and it's expensive. I guess I just don't know where it goes from here. Thanks

Have different provinces modified the CPN program?

Does anyone know? I ask because Gymnix International put out a message that for Aspire and Elite they are using the "Gymnastics Canada PNC version".

    Coaches PCD Program at IGC?

Just curious if anyone has done or heard about the Professional Coach Diploma program at IGC? I've been coaching high school for the last 2 seasons and will be again this year, so thought about doing next summer as a way to prepare to jump back in to club coaching (which is the plan as of now)...

    WAG Beginning a Competitive Program

Hello Everyone! I've seen so much knowledge and experience on this site I knew it should be the first place I turn. I am beginning a competitive program at my gym. WAG Describe your rec. program...progressive or overlooked?

There seems to be an overwhelming tone on ChalkBucket that many girls rec. gymnastics programs are not progressive...they are basically overlooked and so are the children in them. Is this the case at your gym?...or do you have a nice progressive rec. program? Please describe your rec...
