Parents Do your kids Stretch and condition when they do not have practice?

We have started making oldest dd do some extra stuff at home (stuff her coach gave her to do when she was working on her bhs) I think it has helped but more important has lessened her injuries since she is def stronger (she is the kid who gets hurt easy )

    Pre-School Stretching

I teach a pre-school class with a young guy- no formal gymnastics training, likes the gym, just kind of got thrown into the whole rec. coaching thing. He usually does the stretching with the kids- including bridges (these are 4-5 year olds) which makes me cringe, but he learned this was okay...

    Heel Stretch issues

I have been working for the longest time to achieve my left heel stretch. The problem is if I lay on the floor, I can pull it no problem, but when I do it standing, I can't. Why may this be?

    Painful stretches.

Since it's the summer, I don't want to lose my flexibility, especially because I just learned a lot of new skills (I do cheerleading). I usually start my day with a light run for warm ups and then I stretch my legs for heel stretches and bow n arrows, I stretch my thigh muscles for scales and...

    Back Stretches

What are some back stretches your gym does? At our gym, the only back stretching they do is a bridge and that's about it. It seems a bit like just popping into a split without doing the lunge and hamstring stretch. I was wondering if there were any prerequisite stretches your gym does in...

    Chronic stretching/over stretching

Is it possible to over stretch? I have a tendency to hold stretches for the length of a song, especially major stretches like hip flexors, splits, straddles, etc. I also stretch as much as two or three times a day. But I do admit that the next day I will be too sore to walk up the stairs at...

Hi Everyone! My wrists have been hurting me, so I now use wrist guards to tumble. However, I wondered how everyone stretches there wrists, or what is the correct way. Stretching?

So i switched gyms 3 years ago and i really don't think that we stretch enough. So we come to the gym and we run for 5 minutes. Then we do splits and a 30 second bridge. Then we do progressions and start gymnastics. At the end, we condition and sometimes we do splits at the end, but thats...

Beam-Does it matter what leg you do the heel stretch on?

I have a question...when doing skills on beam, particularly the balancing elements such as heel stretches, does it matter what leg you stand on? For instance, since my dd is a left handed tumbler she does her beam dismount differently than righties. So does this logic hold true for things like...
