I'm a rec coach and some of the kids have their pullovers and baby casts. Would like to work on back hip circles, but I'm not sure how to introduce the concept and also how to spot one. Would love any advice.

thank you!I think the number one progression would be Inverted candle hangs!
View attachment 9382Basically count to ten while helping support weight by spotting shoulders, this is a great shaping tool and can be fun once theyre able to do themselves.
They start in front support then tell them to squeeze super tight and drop their shoulders, then you can slowly bring them into this position, eventually you can turn it into fully pushing around the bar (like a full back hip circle just not from a cast!)
when spotting the actual back hip circle from a cast you can support their legs and lower back , make sure they know to push down on the bar at the end of their bhc so they dont go crazy off the bar, knowing they can control it is super helpful as well.
A huuuuge important thing is making sure they have a good understanding of a hollow body position!!
