Trying to figure out requirements for level 9 beam!
DD is planning on competing a BHS BT as her series (B+C), switch leap jump tuck 3/4 (C+C), and a round off full dismount. She is struggling with getting an aerial or another salto, was wondering if she needs one to start from a 10? Any help would be appreciated!

My understanding is she needs another acro skill - at least a C. Her roundoff is an acro element but its only a B. Right now I believe she is starting at a 9.9 (.1 off for the roundoff).

what C elements does she have or is getting close to having? Does she have a LO step out? She could do RO - LOSO and then a separate BT and meet the 10.0 sv.

Worst case scenario, is she competes a 9.9 routine cleanly rather than trying to get to a 10 and having issues with an element that isn't really ready. Can always add in the element later when its competition ready.

what is her coach saying?

The start value is 10. She gets +0.1 bonus for the B+C acro series and +0.2 for the C+C dance series. The missing additional C acro is an acro not up to level compositional deduction of 0.1 (routine has no dance or dismount composition deductions). It is of course up to each gym/coach, but It is very common for level 8/9/10’s to compete with small up to the level compositional deductions. It’s often not worth adding an additional difficult skill to gain 0.05 or 0.1.

Has she tried standing back pikes or BHS back pike? Also keep in mind that most gymnasts would probably lose more tenths on an additional acro than they would gain from it anyway.
