lol, one meet we went to, they had a raffle for 50% off Lasix Eye Surgery (at a specific eye surgery center in that city). The winner was actually a dad from OUR gym. He said it was worth the drive to get it that much cheaper… the Surgery center staff had 2 gymnasts on the hosting team.

In our area we often saw 50/50 raffles. You don't need to invest into baskets, or beg anyone for donations. And the winner gets cash! Who would refuse some extra cash?
Also, a week at a gymnastics camp has always been a big hit at the meets we hosted. In exchange we distributed the flyers of the camp with the meet gifts, so the camp got some advertisement out of this.
