here you go. everyone in Lansing is familiar with Stuart:
"University police investigated Nassar in 2014 after a then recent graduate said he sexually assaulted her during an appointment at his campus office for hip pain treatment. The Ingham County Prosecuting Attorney's Office, then led by Stuart Dunnings III, declined to issue charges. Prosecutors and police have declined to release records because that case also has been reopened."

this one is better than most. but they don't explain what happened with one of the Ingham County investigations given to a prosecutor there. he was arrested in a prostitution ring. nasser's case went "missing" and MSU never followed up. if i find the story i'll post it. maybe many of you had already seen it.

What is your purpose for posting this article?

One thing it states is that he was still working at MSU up until sept 16th and only had been put on desk job in August 2016.

So right there - like I stated earlier - you are wrong and should admit on this page that that was a false statement.

What other things were you wanting us readers to glean from this article?

Again - what are you hoping we see from
This article - it doesn't clear anything up - not sure your motive for this one - it isn't about the porn here.

ADMIN note ;

It has been reported to me that a member has been messaging various members, basically suggesting they "might know who they are" and that "they should stop" in their line of discussion.

This is not okay. Messaging is not built in for that purpose, please do not abuse it. Discussion here is moderated, and if the mods see anything inappropriate they will deal with it, it is not for an individual to decide what can, or cannot, be posted. If you do not like a post, use the report button to alert the staff. However do not report stuff just because you would rather not see it in the public eye, report stuff only because it breaks our rules.

Thank you, and have a good evening.

As it pertains to the age a girl should begin to see a gynecologist. 13-15 is the recommended age to start.

OK, this almost feels silly to even acknowledge this topic being interjected into this conversation, but since you posted these articles I want to clarify.

If you read the articles you linked and most any resource in the subject you'll find most health care providers advise first pelvic exams at the age of 21- even if a girl is sexually active. I assume a pelvic exam is what we're talking about here right?

If so, then even if you take a girl at the recommended age range of 13-15, those first appointments typically just include breast exams, urine tests for STDs if sexually active and *maybe* an external exam.

Folks were saying that a young woman wouldn't be going to the GYN until after 18. I wasn't speaking to the type of exam. That would depend on the young woman and whats going on.
There are also birth control decisions involved etc......

And here its JMO, but college is too late...... And a whole different thread.

My kid, between 13-15 depending where she is at. But then we were at her Ped today and already started the discussions.

I have older girls than you. Based on my kids, and their friends, gyn visits are really for problems, not for regular check ups or BC. Neither of my girls have ever seen one, and no pelvic exams are done until over 21.

Actually, the initial gyno exam is recommended at the age of 16... or sooner if sexually active or having menstrual difficulties. There are even pediatric gynos in in a lot of bigger cities.

I have seen 13-15 listed as the recommended age. I could see this too.
I know of several girls (from when I was younger and now) that had their first pelvic before the age of 21... and actually, several had them at the age of 16.
Even if the doctor DOESNT do a pelvic, he or she WOULD wear gloves for exams... which could lead to questioning of procedures and gloves.

May well be "recommended" but seriously not needed.

ETA ; This thread is falling off topic, so lets hop back on the previous ugly topic please.

Raenn, that's how it was when I was younger but it's outdated information. Now, there may be some practitioners who don't follow these current guidelines, but here is the American Academy of Pediatrics current recommendations document.

The AAP recommended age 21 for pelvic exams.

The are some indications for having one earlier than 21, but sexual activity is no longer one of them. Here's an AAP publication on that.

*Sorry to take this topic off course.

I'm really confused here as well.

Dunno, why do you want us to,understand that?^^^ Is it that much better to be just a picture peddler? Does it negate the horrible actions?

You can't tell me allowing a male doctor to work without a chaperone on under aged female children makes USAG in any way a victim of a sneaky clever man who fooled everyone. They gave him the environment. My doctor is never alone with me.

Agreed. And my doctor has been alone with me, but she's a woman...and I'm not a minor. And she does pelvic exams to make sure I don't have ovarian cancer, not to cure my torn ACL.

It's very creepy to read the timeline of events and see that many of these instances were at the same exact time that USAG told 10 year old girls to call him in the middle of the night if they needed something.

@dunno has made a few references to the "dark net" and "pedogate". He says the sport has been infiltrated. He's hinted that Nassar is part of a much bigger Something. He's encouraged us to open our eyes and minds, and suggest we use critical thinking and consult someone in law enforcement. As if this excuses and clears USAG of any wrongdoing or responsibility in protecting member athletes from Nassar's actions. I don't know anyone in law enforcement so I have to use Google. When I google some of the terms that @dunno mentions I only get conspiracy theory-type articles (infowars actually came up as a source!) and NONE are from a news organization that I would deem even slightly credible. I generally value the input @dunno brings to a conversation but I'm struggling with this one.

I don't deny a dark world at all. I've experienced some of the ickiest that humanity has to offer. I was googling the above to try to find more information because well, it is personal for me. I'm following USAG's response (or lack of one) in all this and it's truly upsetting. USAG has a long ways to go in accepting their responsibility in this. While I was encouraged by Aly's comments at P&G, I was horrified by Nastia's comments as she is one of the faces of USAG. This saddens me. If Dunno has the connections and inside scoop that he claim, then I'm just as saddened by his comments too surrounding USAG.

My comments supporting USAG have only to do with confirming that NO ONE knew what Nasser was doing. That they have never covered up sexual abuse. There is NO smoking gun. And that MSU knew several years before and had a legal duty to inform USAG that there was an issue. It starts there. That's not to say that membership hasn't been reticent and cautious about these issues in reporting as they have been sued before. Slander and defamation, etc;
USAG has gone too great lengths in some cases to protect their right to ban people from the sport. Please research Steve Waples. And Texas folks, he still owns gyms. He's a non member gym. You think that USAG can do something about that? He's on the banned list.
Furthermore, I have been an advocate for the victims since day one. You have no idea just how close this has hit our home. I have spoken with several of the victims. It's been a depressing 26 months.
In the meantime please check the dates in the following article. They are vital to understanding the timeline. And I understand why some of you got pissed off because I stated "first and foremost". Sincerely, I get it. My point I guess is this. Yes, Nasser is a POS. He, as well as others on that banned list, was going to do what he did regardless of the child porn. But he WAS doing that. And profiting off the youth in our sport. What he did is a different level than what normally (oxymoron) occurs. And it has been occurring since the first that we know of in 2007.... another on the banned list. Me pointing this out does NOT mean I'm victim blaming or NOT supporting those athletes. I can support them AND defend the allegations against members of my profession and USAG both.
Remember, I'm the guy that tells you to have your children lift the Italian finger when necessary. How on earth you would think that I would defend USAG and membership if ANYONE knew what was going on and didn't report it is startling to me. USAG and Steve Penny were 'cleared of any wrong doing" and were told "they did everything they were supposed to do". Time will demonstrate that to you all. This is the last time I will post on this subject matter until everything comes out and certain of certain people being exonerated.

NOTHING negates that Nasser is a POS. NOTHING! in hindsight, yes, it turns out to have been a VERY BAD IDEA. and nobody "gave" him the environment. he proved himself over a very long time without complaint...until the year 2000. MSU let it go several times. They KNEW. and did anyone inside the USAG industry notify MSU? you will have to wait for that and who that was.

finally, Nasser did what he did when people were standing right in front of him. and when they were not.

and why does everyone put more importance on the issue of whether someone from the Office told MSU? MSU had FIFTEEN YEARS to notify US as to what Nasser had been doing for a LONG TIME which included gymnasts. yet which organization reported him to state and federal authorities? not MSU.

and if all parties on all sides were told by "experts" that this procedure was an "accepted procedure" can no one understand the legal repercussions of why USAG didn't start blabbing their mouths off? and it is more likely than not the entire issue would have gone nowhere...if not for those child porn charges.
