I have seen the term TOPS and I read a little about TOPS but I still don't quite understand the program. How does a girl get tested for TOPS? What is the benefits of the program? What age and level? What is it all about?
Thanks!
My 8 yr old both the distal radius and ulna Easter weekend while roller blading. She has been cast & brace free now for a couple of weeks. I hope your DD heals quickly.
Remember I was trying to decide if we should switch gyms? I really wanted my DD to have team mates, a peer group at the gym which our old gym lacked at her age/ability level.
Well, we went to her first practice at the new gym and 6 of the 7 girls were there, all very close in age and 3 of the...
I have just recently heard of Flip Fest in TN. My in-laws actually just moved to Crossville, TN. Do they have age / level requirements? I am thinking for maybe next year.
I looked over the summer schedule. My DD will on (younger girls) training team and does 4 hrs a week. The (older girls) training team is 6 hrs a week, Competing level 4/training level 5 is 9 hrs, level 6 - 12 hrs, level 7 -15 hrs, level 8 to 10 - 16 hrs.
She is going into first grade this...
My youngest is getting more involved with gymnastics and starting the training level 4 team. I don't have a clue about the terms, skills, etc. Any good books or guides to help me learn about gymnastics. I don't know what anything is called or what I am looking at when she competes. Falling...
Good advise everyone! Thanks for the input and words of wisdom. We will make the move to gym B. And, I agree about not planning too far ahead. She is my baby (of four kids) and I can lose perspective with her! ;)
I need to make a team decision over the next couple of days and need advise from other parents with more experience in the gym world. My DD is 6 (entering first grade) and she has been at a rec gym competing in non-USAG meets this past year at level 3. I think she has real potential to be a...
All great suggestions. I do think the coach wants the same warm up for all levels (they were the same leo) she is pretty practical person. I wouldn't have thought of black velour, that is a great idea also.
So, I went in to talk with the coach about my dd and left as "Team Mom". :)
My first task is to help select the teams warm up suit for the upcoming season. Any ideas? What brand and type of fabric are your girls warm-ups? I don't want ones that make the 'swishing' sound when they walk.
Thanks!
Thank you all so much for all of your input. I talked with our current coach today and discussed my DD, levels, meets, practices, etc. I feel so reassured that we are in the right place for her age/level.
