The new level 5 bar routine gives the option of clear hip, stalder, or sole circle. Are most gyms going to do the clear hip? How are you deciding which skill to do? Thanks:)
I am desperately scouring the internet for sole circle drills. How do you teach a sole circle? Not the dismount, the real, all the way around the bar sole circle. We only have a high strap bar. I have never spotted them but I know how, but I still don't feel like that's a safe way to start...
We have a little gymnast in our squad who seems to master everything we give her really easily apart from a circle up on the bar, I think you guys call it a pullover in the USA? We have been working on chin ups with her, she can pull up to a chin up shape and get her feet to the bar, she then...
I mean, now I can everything fine with the other events but....... my good ol' enemy, THE BAR..... dud dud dun..... yeah, i fail at bars..... it took me two years to get my pullover and the only that's blocking from level two is that good ol' bar. Well, not really, my back hip circle. I can...
My DD is struggling with her front hip circle. She was on bars last at her team practice on Thurs., and all the other girls came running out because they were done. She wasn't with them, so I looked over there, and she had gotten back up there to try it a few more times. Her bars coach asked...
Woohooo!!! After only 5 weeks of working on it, DD (developmental team - age 6) did several mill circles tonight all by herself (and they weren't ugly :))! I have seen so many posts about the dreaded mill/stride circle that I was prepared for it to be months before she got it. Now let's hope...
If you're coming to Circle of Stars in Indianapolis this weekend, be sure to stop at our booth and pick up a FREE sneak peek at our new music for 2013!!
We want to meet you!
:)
Is or has anyone been to the Circle of Stars meet in Indianapolis. This will be Alex's first time competing there and I was just looking for information about the venue, hotels within the area and other things to do while there! Also, anything else regarding the meet that you might want to share.
This comes out of a discussion tonight. What is the general train of thought on arm circles, which is better, large or small? What is currently being taught? If a gymnast is doing one type and another type is now being taught, does that hurt the vault score?
Sorry for being so general.
DD (7yo) L4 is going to have her first meet in a couple of weeks. The only skill she does not have is her front hip circle on bars! Several girls on her team don't have it completely yet, so I tell her no worries! But she cries a lot about it after practice because she's afraid she won't be...
Is there something magic about turning 6? All of a sudden she is learning skill after skill after being pretty stagnant for about 6 months. She's gone from not even being able to do even a bad bhs on trampoline to doing a really good looking ro bhs on the regular floor in a month. The progress...
Is this new for the L3 routine? Because I just went back and watched my niece's L3 bar routine at a meet, and there was no mill circle. It was a pullover, BHC, leg cut, then a toe on dismount. But my little one's L3 routine has the mill circle in it, after the leg cut. TIA!
Just a quick question,
Are you allowed to do a sole circle (stoop circle, dunno what it's really called, basically a squat-on and then you go around the bar and then jump to the high bar)
In level 5 or 6 without a deduction?
Thanks!
So, for the summer, our gym combines the pre-team for 9 and under with the pre-team for 9 and up.
This is an awful idea because the younger class is WAY less advanced. Most of them can't even do a backbend...
But the one thing that all of those little girls have is a back hipcircle.
I...
Has anyone here ever used one of these? it looks interesting i may just try to make one and try it with my boys :) it looks fairly simple the blue part rotates around and the mushroom is stationary.
I am having a really hard time with my sole-circle on bars. I don't have the best grip strength and I feel like I'm going to peel off the bar when I do them (I only have once, but my heart leaps everytime I go for it). I'll do them but they scare me quite a bit. So they're really on and off...
I just started level 5 And in lvl 4 I had a a striaght arm front hip circle.
But I just got grips and I think The grips might be my problem. Any advice ?
My daughter is a 5 yr.old level 3. She does a beautiful bar routine, but she slips off the bar (most of the time) doing her leg cut back after her mill circle. Any suggestions?
Ok so, I have been having trouble with my back hip circle. Here's my problem, I can't get around the bar I cast off the bar and begin to go around but then I fall back down when my body is horizontal to the ground. I only have three practices till my first meet and I'm nervous that if I fall on...
