Can anyone please confirm if a sissonne will fill the leap/jump requiring 180 cross/side split on beam? These new rules are too complicated. Can't find any specific text to say it will. Dd is terrified to do her split leap. Any advice please?
Hello, just wondering what the sissone and leap and straddle jump requirements for split angle on floor for L4 are. How about leaps on beam?
How much does the requirement increase for L5?
Where is the angle measured from? It is bottom of knee on forward leg to front of knee on back leg...
Ok so we are going to the meet in Florida in January. The coaches are talking to the girls about the appropriate levels and it is I different from what we are used to. So they think my dd will have to go level 8 because of bars. Here are her routines...
Bear with me, she told me this and I...
I was wondering what the requirements are because the other day I was asked to try out for team and I want to know what skills I should work on. Thanks!
Does anyone know the requirements? I was wondering because I was asked to try out for the bronze team the other day and I want to know what skills I should work on to male the team. Thanks.
I have just a quick question. I have read that for xcel gold beam, the requirements are two acro skills, one reaching vertical. Do they have to be different skills or would a bwo- bwo in a series meet the requirement?
Is there a deduction for this?? I can't imagine that there is, but maybe I'm wrong...
A coach from another gym who went to congress (I did not go) and learned the routines from Tom Koll himself keeps telling me that he said if the athlete exceeds the requirement in the text, they will revive a...
I heard that they changed the release move requirements to be 1 high bar and 1 transitional bar release. So the standard bail/Chinese sit up doesn't cut it. Has anyone heard about this?
Hi,
Right now i'm doing a rec gymnastics camp, but i saw a few girls who are on the rec team with me training as pre-team. As i saw them, i came to see that what they were doing was much more my level than the rec camp. I learned that the head coach picked the girls who could do all of the...
Can someone clarify the level 8 allowable/required skills on beam and floor? Our girls have been working back tucks on beam, but the coaches are now saying that only C dance skills are allowed on beam & floor. No C acro. This contradicts my understanding from previous threads on here. I have...
So I am confused again! Seems to be a constant state since DD moved to optionals! So the COP states in the general bars section that all cast need to go to vertical but when you look at the specific requirements for level 6 and level 7 it specifically states for level 6 1 cast min of...
I'm making a video soon to send to colleges, but it's hard since I don't compete. I'd like to put together a floor routine to show them though. What are the requirements (holds, passes, etc) for a level 10 routine? And what's a 'standard' level 10 floor routine?
Thanks!
If you have any info...
Is there a set of requirements for each xcel level? My older dd, who is 12, went to a gymnastics bday party today and has decided that she wants to give up cheer for a bit and focus on gymnastics. She did a few years of gym about five years ago and has been cheering since. She has some decent...
Is this correct? It is the way I read the text but want to double check.
Bars - the mount and dismount can count towards total number of A's and B's.
Beam - the mount and dismount do not count for A's and B's because the have to start and finish on beam to count.
My DD made team this year and her coach was talking about wanting her to compete new level 4 next year. She's 6 and won't be 7 until mid Feb. I was reading something on the USAG site about the new levels and it had minimum age requirements:
New level 3 - min. age 6
New level 4 - min. age 7...
