Just curious how many hours your kiddos do in the gym on a weekly basis over the summer? This will be DD's first summer in a private gym program... At the Y, summer hours were the same as the rest of the year. Also she's moving from compulsories to optionals, so another big jump in hours from...
DD is in a small gymnastics program, level 3-5 only with about 30 girls total in the program. Currently we have 5 team coaches. DD is level 3. 3 of our coaches are leaving this summer- including the HC and assistant HC. 1 is going away to college and the other 2 are moving because their spouses...
I really want to go to GymRep this summer in Quebec. But I know since it is in Quebec most people will speak french. I am terrible at french so I was wondering if many people do speak english? Also I am 16, do you think that is too old to go to this camp?
I caught this picture of my dd on the beach today. Just wanted to share as I never get any good gymnastics photos! She wasn't expecting the wave to hit her in the face!
Cady just finished her summer session in Dynamites (pre-pre team.) She has made so much progress! Her pullover is much more consistent and she almost has her BHC. Her floor and beam are looking more confident as well. I was afraid she would get bored, b/c it is a lot more repetition and...
This is a bit off topic but wanted to share anyway. DD had SO MUCH FUN doing this musical theatre camp! They did Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and it ran for three weeks and on the last two nights, they did two performances.
Here are a few clips from what I was able to videotape...
I assumed that the new 8 year cycle with all the level changes that everyone keeps talking about will take place in the summer of 2013 (two years from now). However I have read several posts with people talking about the changes next year. Can someone clarify, we do have 2 more competition...
Hi there, I was just wondering what gymnastics summer camps are the best ones out there? I know of Flip Fest, Woodward and IGC. But what ones do you recomend going to? My DD's want to go to a gym camp next year, but I have no clue where to send them! I want them to be as comfortable as possible...
Hi everyone,
My six year old is going to gym from 9:00 to 11:30 and 4:00 to 6:45 Mondays to Fridays and 3 hours Saturday mornings. She seems Ok but not thrilled about the morning sessions and I feel it's too much. She's doing 28 hours a week .In August there will be no more morning sessions...
DD starts her new class tomorrow! Wondering if there is anyone else who has 4 or 5 year olds moving from pre-school to pre-team or a developmental program.
Just wondering. I just started last fall, so I have some simple goals like:
-Getting my ROBH on floor (SO close to my standing BH!)
-Handstand and round-off dismount on beam: Any advice for fear issues? I know they're really simple things, but no matter what I'm doing on high beam, I get so...
Well we finally got it. M - th 4 - 8:30pm each day (18 hours total)
This works out great for us gives us the weekend for family and the days to be with friends.
Anyone that has worked at any of the summer camps (Woodward, IGC, Lake Owen)...what do they normally pay a coach to work a week of camp? I'm assuming they all provide room and board to staff?
When does your club hand out summer schedules?
Ours is not officially out just yet but since I am a coach I know my daughter will be training 4 nights a week for 4 hours.
Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri 4-8.
So much for evenings dinners! Oh well.
This forum has been a little slow lately so I thought I would start a new thread!
Post a picture or a link to a leotard you really want for summer (or winter for my Australian friends :P )
I know I really don't need another leotard, but it's hard to resist the temptation of so many fun...
Okay, let me just preface this by saying, I'm reallly looking just to vent, and maybe for a few sympathetic virtual pats on the back. After all, I put myself in this position of having a boy and a girl on team...
well, we had a staff meeting at the gym today (yes, I am staff...I work the front...
