MAG DS had a great meet this weekend!

He got his first ever 1st for AA (before this, 3rd was his highest AA). His highest scores yet on P bars and Pommel. And he seriously did his best 5.5 circles on the mushroom that I have ever seen him do. He actually placed top 3 in everything except high bar, and got 4th in that.

Now... the gym with one of the kids who always outscores him wasn't there. so I'm sure state will be tougher (since that gym will be there); but it wasn't an easy meet at all and he is super proud.

That sounds like a wonderful meet! It's amazing how that mushroom improves over time.

yeah, his improvement on the mushroom and pommel has been amazing!

One funny for that event. He finished pommel, went over to the mushroom. The judge called him over to the table to have a talk with him. Had to remind him that between the apparatuses he needs to stop and salute. oops.

Haha, the first time DS did 5.5 circles at a meet was this year at the first one -- he finally cracked it just before states last year, but was so excited at the meet that he accidentally did 6.5! Whoops!

So exciting for them when it finally comes together! He is setting himself up well for L5.
