DD just turned 9, and is getting choreography in a week or two. She's not a cutesy gymnast at all, is very serious during her routines, but can't dance to save her life. Coach wants something "In between cute and serious, with strong beats". She'll do 3 tumbling passes, and as little dance as possible. Luckily, DD's not too picky and likes almost everything. She's the silliest, goofiest kid outside of competing, and loves all the corky floor music, but if she won't smile and sell it, most of the music she really likes won't be approved.

Go to floor express and start listening to music they have a ton of choices. We just went through this.

Sounds a lot like my gymmie! Very very serious, no cutesy in her when competing! LOL She is doing a Russian symphony. Very powerful and fits her!

I like to search you tube, black violins, then follow where you tube takes you as you click other options on the side bar.
