Hi, I had a few questions about skills on high bar:

1. When you do a Higgins into eagle grip do you try to grasp the bar with your thumb around? (I've seen it done both with thumbs and without all the way up to elite and wondered which is more commonly taught/safer)

2. Do you do eagle grip giants with your thumbs around? (Again, I've seen both. No thumbs looks a little easier but also more risky)

3. Should you catch a Gienger with thumbs around the bar? (I find it much easier to catch without thumbs, but I have difficulty switching my thumbs around the bar while I glide into my KCH)

Thanks for the help!

If the Higgins is done into an eagle as opposed to an invert, the thumbs don't have to wrap around the bar. An inverted giant requires thumbs being wrapped. I always did and teach boys to wrap the thumbs. So, even when catching a release, the thumbs are wrapped.
