Can someone tell me how much of a deduction it is if a gymnast does an extra swing on high bar in the level 4 bar routine? For example, gymnast does jump to high bar, Kip, ½ cast (aka extra swing, not going right into the next move), then the real cast to horizontal, bhc, and then the rest of the swings/dismount. I have video if I didn't explain well enough. Thanks!

Extra elements in compulsory routines are deducted, yes. I think it's .5 for both girls and boys.

Yes! And I do think, at least in optionals, it is .3 for boys' extra swings too. But then they take any form deductions....feet, knees, amplitude, etc..

Somewhat related question that I've been meaning to ask for a while.
If a gymnast does kip-cast, falls on squat on, and then does kip-cast again, would she be deducted for an extra kip and an extra cast?
DD did this at one meet, and her score was pretty low. At another meet she just did a pullover, and her score was higher.
