Hello all, Is it common to still have meets after State? In our gym we still have 3 meets after our State. I wasn't sure if this is a common practice. Thought State meet concludes the season.

Depends on the type of meet and who is competing. We have our compulsory and optionals compete at the same time. Our compulsories end at state but level 8, 9 and 10 can go to regionals, level 9 and 10 can continue to Western/Easterns and then level 10 can finish with JO Nationals.

Some states separate compulsories and optionals. The compulsories have one season and then the optionals go and sometimes there are TWO seasons so States end one season and then another starts.

So yes, there can be meets after States depending on how your state/region is set up.

We just had State for compulsory 2 weeks ago, but have 3 more meets in January and February. The optionals start their season and we go to a few of their meets, but they are invitationals for the compulsory girls and don't qualify them for anything. My daughter is excited for the later meets because they give out medals instead of ribbons. It also gives some a chance to move up a level and practice new skills before the real compulsory season.
