okay. Search wasn’t working for me. But aside from what to feed her for breakfast and lunch. What can I do to keep my 6 year old gymnast calm and relaxed before a 3:15pm warmup for her State meet coming up?

This is her second year and it seems like every afternoon meet, her adrenaline wears off in the middle of her session noticeably tanking her energy, and I can only think that it’s because she wakes up and the adrenaline kicks in early because of nerves and excitement. Any ideas or tips I could do the night before, and/or the morning of her state meet?

We treat afternoon and evening meets like normal days. Have breakfast, do chores, run an errand. If you’re precious about the day it’ll make everyone anxious and squirrelly.

3:15 is nice because it’s similar to a normal practice time. When my daughter gets nervous about the schedule for a meet like that, I remind her that she usually does >4 hours of practice with full routines after an entire school day. That helps keep it in perspective.

I personally don’t like 11:00 meets. They’re weird because you have time, but not a lot of time, and fueling is weird since you can eat breakfast but not quite a full lunch.
