Hey all,
I'm 5'4" and have really small wrists and ankles, so they are always weakening my skills and they always hurt at the end of practice. What's the best way to deal with this?
(p.s. I've thought about tiger paws, but I haven't tried them. They seem like they would be hard to tumble in)
We just found out about 2 weeks ago that I have a bruised ankle or theirs like water in it or something? We talked to the foot doctor and he kinda wanted me to quite and said he doesn't think it can get better. But then my coach who also talked to the doctor said it can get better?!:confused...
during the month of january, i had three sprained ankles-2 varified by doctors. i was still in my high school gymnastics season, and my coach would tape my ankles every day. now, i only go to my regular gym, where they do not tape my ankles, so i have to tape my own on the way there. taping and...
Eh, I am not sure this goes here, but both my big toe and my ankle make a popping noise when I do rotations/extensions to warm up. Never happens while running or anything. Any stretch their toes/ankles other than the usual calf stretches? Thanks in advance for any info...
i have weak ankles and wrists...my ankles especially (they have a tendency to turn out)...I have PT exercises I'm supposed to do to strengthen the muscles around the joints...but I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for good--but not outrageously expensive--ankle (and/or wrist) supports...
At the end of December, I got a grade 3 ankle sprain on both sides of my left ankle. I had a boot for a month and then didn't do anything pounding for about a month. I got discharged from PT and everything was going fine. I got my ankle taped at every practice and I occasionally had a little...
I was working on floor dance last wednesday... we were correcting the parts of our routines that a judge recently came and evaluated. My correction was pointing my toes when my feet left the ground. I was doing really well. but one of my attempts, i jumped, kept my toe pointed, landed, rolled my...
I'm coming back to gym from a grade 2 sprained ankle and I need a good ankle brace to support it when I start tumbling and doing vault.
Any suggestions?
Last night I hurt my ankle while doing a backtuck dismount off beam. My foot got stuck inbetween two mats and rolled. My coach thought it was broken when he saw it but after the pain wore off after icing it I could move it back and forth and didn't hurt to point it but it did when i pulled it...
I am hoping for some Ankle Strengthening drills. My DD has rececently broken her right ankle and then after coming back badly sprained her left.

Hey everyone!
so first i have to say that my 'gymnastics carreer' ended a while ago, since then i am competing in track and field.
So as i'm still in love with gymnastics and gymnasts are 'exerienced' with injuries, i thought that it might help to post here.
Two years ago i had a bad...
My daughter sprained her foot last wednesday at practice. the dr. said no practice for a week, but her coach said she would be fine to practice on monday, even if she was a little sore. Her foot is still swollen. Should I follow her coach's advice, who i know would never do anything to hurt her)...
Our team coaches just bought the girls ankle weights to do their warm ups and some conditioning in. They run in them, do kicks, handstands, even backhandsprings. To me, they seem like a horrible idea. Some girls already have ankle issues and these girls are still growing. Putting more strain and...
I hurt my ankle on monday at practice. Went to the doctors on tuesday for xrays, they arent sure whats wrong, they said maybe a fracture maybe just a sprain. It was too hard to tell from the swelling. I am in a cast for 3 weeks now, then they are going to do more xrays and go from there. This is...
I have been experiencing some pain in my ankles lately, and I was wondering if anyone has experienced or knows what the issue is. This has always been an issue for me, but recently it has felt worse. When I land a jump or tumbling move, I feel an aching sting in my ankle. Sometimes I feel it in...
I haven't been on the forum in a long time since I've been so busy getting into teaching more fitness classes, pilates reformer and personal training inaddition to trying to step up my gymnastics training. I was planning on coming online and telling all of you the good news about landing a job...
