And it didn't start well at all, resulting in ending last.:bawling:
She started on bars and she finally mastered the kip last Wednesday. And she was being a little stubborn and adamant to put that element in. With warming up, she did it, but on the competition, it didn't work. Then she had to...
Hi,
I wanted to tell you all that I have my 2nd competition tomorrow, for good luck, I already won a silver medal last month, but this time I have a little injury, my tibia(shin) has bothered me the last 2 weeks and it's really annoying, especially on the vault. I will begin on bars, which I'm...
So thought I would share this, after not having been on this forum for 2 years or so.
Am trying to put a video in, but it isn't showing, or is it just me? Not sure how this works anymore?

Daughter had her 1st cheer competition this past weekend. She did well did not fall despite of her team not placing. I enjoyed the gymnastic meets much better but I am trying to be that supportive mom. I have never seen so many girls fall on their heads trying to backhandsprings in my life...
Hi, we're in the UK and my daughter is a floor and vault gymnast. In our county this has six levels - novice, intermediate, advanced, bronze, silver and gold. My daughter is 11 and was a 2 hour rec gymnast up until nearly a year and a half ago, when she was moved into the squad and 8 hours...
I'm supposed to tell my mom what to get me foodwise for the next couple competitions, and I was just wondering, what do you guys normaly bring to competitions. My normal is fruit, nuts, crackers. Stuff like that.
Our team leotards came in today! We ordered them from GK, which I am glad because I love them, but mine fits a little weird. The torso fits ok, arm length is ok, but the arms are really baggy.
I got an AL because that's what I wear in my workout leos from gk (I have about 5 from there). I...
What are your thoughts on a gymnast competing that doesn't quite have all her skills consistent with good form? DD's first meet level 9 meet is coming up and she is not ready yet. The main problem is getting the .3 bonus. Her blind change front giant is not very healthy looking (HAH! :P) and...
I do t&t and for double mini we have mats over a resi pit for landing. I know a lot of gyms do this for double mini and vault to save gymnasts joints. Last year I sprained both my ankles at different times. Now I am preparing to compete level 10 which means doubles dismounting and a lot more...
There's controversy over this at our gym. We always have a mock meet before competition season starts to show the newbies to team what to expect and so the experienced girls know what to expect from scoring.
Anyway, my daughter decided to do a head band with pieces of hair weaved over it to...
Okay, well, we had been talking about how the girls were going to wear their hair, or how they had in the past. Some of the more seasoned moms said something about a sock bun. That, that is what they do, and it makes beautiful curls that last. So I went on youtube to see what my wandering eye...
Hi guys my DD will be starting NDP comps in the new year, are there any essential items that i must take with me? or things to do before hand??
thanks :D
I have noticed that it seems the older you are, the easier it is to win, essentially. I am a Level 7 with one teammate. She is 12 and I'm 14. I usually outscore her, but at a meet a recently she got a 9.1 on bars and I got an 8.8. Then, I got first and she didn't place at all. It occurred to me...
i'm looking for a competiton that an adult can enter for Prep gold aau or usag, in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida panhandle in October or November. Need practice in front of judges so could enter as a 'demo' or some other way. any ideas out there? Mobile AL area would be great.
Competition leotards. I love the ones that our gym ordered this year, I really do. Nice choice. However... We paid close to $200 for the dang suckers AND they have a very delicate fabric on the sleeves, which makes them just about unwashable. And they're supposed to last a few years. I'm afraid...
Empire gymnastics has opened an adult level for their christmas classic venue in New Orleans weekend of Dec 16th. they will probably follow xcel prep rules since they don't have aau. Link Removed
This should be great fun besides being a good place to go in the winter!
I was just wondering if anyone was going. We got our tickets months ago and can't wait! Especially since we learned Downey Park is near by. ;)
Nothing better then squeezing one last mini family vacation in before school starts
As I'm clueless :D
Back when I did gym there were 6 club grades, which you passed, then went to regional 3-1, then national. No age restrictions or groupings.
Now, it appears there are club grades, national grades, compulsory grades, espoir, junior, senior , and you have to be a...
Hey! So one friday my family and I will be going to the beach for a week!!(: and my mom and I have decided to have some fun and make all the guys in my family, (brother, dad, and sister's boyfriend) make lunch one day...but not a normal lunch...(nothing's ever normal with my family) there's this...
What is the most you have paid for a competition leo? I consider our gym owner very cost-concious when she is making choices so our highest cost so far has been $120. We use them for 2 years before switching, and are getting new ones this year. Who out there has the record for highest priced leo?
