I love, love, love the red and purple leotards from Make It Or Break It, would it be wierd, wrong, or something to buy the same leotards in the same colors. I am also wonder if it is wrong to copy leotard colors/ designs exactly for national competions.
This is my daughter's first year in competition, so I don't really know what to think at this point. All along our coaches have been saying that the leos will be "very tight" and need to be stretched out. But we finally got them on Saturday (first meet is this Saturday) and when I tried it on...
Our gym just got new competition leos. They a white with red detail. They are beautiful. And they should be for over $300. Anyway. I wore it for our first meet and washed it as instructed only to find the foil completely gone in the armpits, elbows and a few other areas. I have to...
I was wondering how many meets most gyms do a year and what are the competition fees. We do 8 plus an in house starter meet. I paid around $1400 this season. The leo was $150 and the warmups $120. I was told by a mom at another gym that her daughters fees were $800 and the Leo, warm ups, and gym...
Hi! Here in prep opt in CT we have a really late competition season. Our first meet is in January and we have states in late April. (Usually we have them around Mother's day but states are really early this year) does anyone else have this late of a season? Just wondering...
*attempts to be discreet* I'm having trouble finding a good sports bra for competition! I'm a bit more made out than the average gymnast & I can't seem to find something that, um, "squashes & supports" for lack of a better word. GK bras aren't cutting it this year.
On another note: to anyone...
In USAG Meets, does anyone know if there is a deduction for Competition Leotards with a large circle hole cut-out in the back?
What is the deduction? Would it be taken from each of the 4 event scores?
We have never seen these at any meets, but they have been ordered for team this year.
What are some of the strangest gifts that you/your daughter have ever received in a competition? For me, they would be a casserole dish:confused: and a red, blue and yellow leotard with a superman logo and a cape collar. It wasn't the supergirl by Nastia, it was a real SUPERMAN leotard!:D
And...
The discussion of the new level requirements has me wondering: What are the advantages and disadvantages to competing at the very low levels (current L3/4), and what is the optimal level for most girls to begin competing? (Average kids, not future elites.) All the gyms in our area start...
Is anyone else starting to get excited as competition season approaches? I know that a lot of different areas start the season at different times, but for our compulsory girls we are weeks away from our first competition.
You can tell the girls are really starting to get excited and I have to...
Hi,
I did a gymnastics competition today and got first on bars and vault. I came first in overall but tied with my sister.
This was a school competition, will they send one of us a new trophy so we dont have to share or will they just leave it.
Thanks:)
Hi, I have my first big meet tomorrow ! I was wondering if anyone has any good competition tips or things to keep in my mid while competing. I'm super excited, so thankyou ! :jump:
So, my gym has organised for anyone who wants to, to go to see a competition of Australia vs Japan this friday :) this is the first time i have ever been to a gymnastics comp at that level and i am so excited! we are seeing the all around competition which should be heaps of fun :) can't wait...
My daughter will be 6 in November and her coaches plan to move her from pre-team to level 2 in the doubt her physical readiness. I know there are girls who compete younger than that, and my daughter has all the skills she needs to compete with. She also already know the floor and bars routine. I...
My older dd is one of 5 or 6 girls in her training group that are all 11 and training Level 9 together. It is fun for the most part because they are all the same age and same interests, and in the same place in their lives. Having said that, it is also a bit competitive. I think generally...
I had my first comp at the weekend and I had no idea it would be so long!! I was there for 6 hours !
First up was vault. My first one was a bit iffy but I stuck the landing on the 2nd one- score of 10.350 and 15 place on vault.
Over to bars, I wasn't sure I was even going to compete bars...
My daughter finally hit her front mill in competition! She's a level 3 and that's been the one missing skill she has. She's won an AA, four vault gold medals, three floor gold medals two beam gold medals and none of those accomplishments made her or me happier than getting this challenge out of...
I can't believe I'm posting this but my dd's comp leo stinks and I don't mean that it's ugly! Apparently she gets really nervous during meets and sweats a lot! I never thought to put deodorant on her because she's 8!
I always wash her GK comp leo in Ivory snow detergent as per the washing...
Why are there so many different competition formats?
My son had his first "true capital cup" format yesterday, and let me tell you, we hated it. It seems dangerous too!
He is a Level 4 guy, so I think feeling comfortable on the eqpt seems to be the most important thing. I know he has told...
