So tonight my daughter's coach told her if she cleaned up her ROBHS she could bump from the Adv Dev group to the level 5 group. This year all her meets were inhouse where she scored very well. My concern is her comp experience is lacking. She has her kip and cartwheel on beam. What else is...
I am currently in prep op, (novice). But next season i would be moving up to intermediate, which is equivalent to level 5/6. I want to do prep op because it's fun and i have friends there, but yet i want to move up to be an optional gymnast eventually. the one thing holding me back? almost all...
Hi all! I'm a long time lurker, first time poster. Anyways, here is my question for you guys. My daughter is just finishing up her level 4 season, they just announced summer schedules/move-ups and we were disappointed to find out that they are keeping her at level 4.
I am a former gymnast and...
My daughter just turned 10 and is a level 5 gymnast. She recently (5 weeks ago) switched gyms and is now at a gym with a little more serious program. At her old gym vault was not practiced much. She has never been strong at vault and weighs about 54 lbs. My daughter is beginning to get...
I'm excited for both my girls! After having good, and at moments great, seasons, we just found out the my older dd (11) has been moved to the Level 9/10 training group and my little dd (7) is in the Level 5 training group! I think they have some hard work ahead of them, but both are excited...
My daughter competed Sunday April 1st at her last level 5 meet of the season. She did a great job and I was so proud of her! She started on bars and ended up with a 9.175 and 1st place. Went next to beam and did a great job but had one pretty big wobble. Got a 8.95 and 3rd place. Next she went...
My DD is level 4 AAU and in our state AAU routines are more difficult than USA (level 4 has cartwheel on beam, vault off table, jump to high bar, front limber). Level 5 the routines are the same and I notice that at the meets, our level 5 AAU girls do not have much competition (i.e., there are...
My daughter had her second level 5 meet Saturday and it went very well. She started on beam and was looking amazing and then fell off on her cartwheel. I was so proud when she climbed back on and gave the rest of her routine her all. She did not allow it to get her down which is a big step for...
My daughter is 9 years old and a level 5 gymnast. She scores all 9's except bars which is very weak. She has one:confused: bent arm in her kip and cannot seem to connect anything, it starts out bad because she has to correct the bent arm before front hip circle, etc, etc. She also cannot make...
I keep hearing about 13-14 year old who just started gymnastics and progress level 5-6 in a year. This seems amazing to me! I suppose they do this because they don't want do be in a class with 7-12 year olds. Being a late 13 year old starter and 14 years old currently in level 3. I wonder, is...
My little 6 year old will compete level 5 this fall season! Quick Q: She turns 7 in May so she can compete level 5 starting in September, right? Anyways this little squirt has conquered kips, dive rolls, front handsprings, two back handsprings after the roundoff and cartwheels on the beam and...
My dd had a meet this weekend. She made her cartwheel. She has been struggling on it all season. She when ever she makes it she is very excited. She improved on vault. She is improving on vault a little every meet. Floor was about the same. She is still working on fine tuning her routine...
Well yesterday was our first level 5 meet! My daughter was very excited and I was nervous. We started on vault and she was the lowest on her team. 7.75. She was not discouraged though and got a 8.225 on bars for 4th. Beam she looked really good and scored a 9.1 for 3rd. Floor was last with a 9.2...
DD and I are so happy that she finally reached that magic age of 7 and was able to start competing level 5. I'm so proud of her and happy for her! She had a meet recently and it went really well. She made it into the 8 range on vault which is a gigantic accomplishment for her. Vault has not come...
I have my first level 5 meet tomorrow! I could really use some good luck, and some fairies that will let me land my cartwheel on beam, be able to get through my floor routine without passing out, and connecting my bars! Thanks everyone!
Hi - My DD has been suffering from Osgood Sclatters in her knees for over 4 months and it is pretty bad. She still goes to practice every day, but has had to modify her workout. Minimal tumbling, not much running, no deep bending.
So, she has not done her level 5 beam mount (legs in V, to feet...
Just out of curiousity, wondering how the height of level 5 bars cast is determined. My dd says that the cast has to be "above minimum" or "above horizontal" and wondering exactly what part of the body (feet, hips, etc) that is.
Not looking to do anything with this info other than to satisfy...
What is the deduction for not connecting the high bar Kip to the cast? For some reason I was under the impression that it was a pretty big deduction. I don't know why I had it in my mind that stopping counted as a fall.
DD had her L5 State Meet today. After a rough season she had a wonderful day. so proud of her. After barely qualifying for states she pulled her AA score up almost an entire point and got her highest vault score of the season.
she was about as consistent as you could get today !!
started out...
I just got my test results and I passed! Wow, does that really mean I'm a judge??? :p Now I have figure out what I can do with it (I'm not really looking to do anything in DDs gym). I guess the Level 7/8 exam is next ...
