What does your typical conditioning program consist of? My daughter is a level 9 soon to be 10 gymnast, who seems to be overconditioned in some areas and not enough in others. I want to know what most other gymnasts do fro their conditioning, and when is it too much?
DD's trainer has made...
I have recorded this a week before the competition, but hadn't had the chance to do anything with it yet, but I did yesterday, and thought it would be nice to show as well.
On this one the beam is missing, but on floor you can hear the original floor music.

I have one guy on my team who, despite otherwise not being particularly strong on tumbling, has an insanely powerful punch. He can't do a clean back layout, but he can already do a punch double-front onto a mat in the pit at floor height. No cowboying, no crouched landing, no nothing; it's...
We've FINALLY gotten to holidays (believe me, training 5 days for 10 weeks is draining), and I've had enough rest now that I'm itching to get back into the gym. I get to go to holiday training 3x in the next two weeks, which is enough (it is really important to let my body rest).

I think my one level 8 guy is ready to start learning double-backs off rings, but I'm not sure how best to teach them without pit rings. When I was learning, I basically just chucked it on pit rings until it felt good enough to do it on a mat.
Any pointers?

My daughter is on level 5. The do an hour of strength training/conditioning per practice (four times/week). Each time they are doing strength training, I see at least two of the girls - sometimes four of five of them- crying...
After three yeas as a floor specilist, I've finally gotten new grips and decided to start training all six events again.
Anybody else ever do anything like this? Like, stop doing an event (or stop training altogether) for a few years and then get back into it? How did it go?
Probably it isn't know with anyone else, but a lot of clubs in Holland, the smaller ones, don't have a proper training hall to go to. They have to build everything up, when there is a training. Was just wondering if anyone else's club has that?
I have been reading alot about different gymnastic programs and abilitites of younger gymnasts. My daughter just turned five and she loves gymnastics! She takes acro at dance and gymnastics at a gymnastic center. She has been doing gymnastics for two years. However, when I read all the posts...
Head coach gave me a tumbling training video to help me with my coaching. It is really awesome. It's Mas Wantanabe (I think) and he gives you the progressions for every skill there is and explains why you need every progression. I'm going to go back and re-tune all my kids forward rolls and...
