DD had second level 6 meet of the season Friday 8am check in. We were hoping for some small improvement from the first meet, not sure how much improvement we got - dd says her routines were overall improved but the scores don't necessarily show it. First up was bars - still struggling with the 2nd kip after the clear hip, which she did not make and only scored a 6.65. Next up was beam - the night before in practice she did several routines which looked very strong, but she was a little shaky during the meet and fell on the full turn, scored a 8.275. On to floor where she didn't seem to have any energy in her tumbling and only scored 7.3, left the floor crying. Apparently she somehow jarred her knee. Coach ended up taping her leg before they moved on to vault, which has always been her weakest event. She didn't warm up because of her leg. Vault was ok considering 7.25. Not a super performance overall, but there is still time for improvement. Next meet is in two weeks.

I wish her the best to get her confidence and skills up. Tell her to work hard but relax a bit (stress-wise) to prep for the next meet. Then she knows that she has done her best.

Sorry her meet wasn't what she had hoped for. Sounds like her beam was strong, considering a fall! She has lots of time still and hopefully her confidence will improve and help her. Considering all she has struggled with, she is doing very well. Level 6 is tough.

She should be proud of her beam score! That's a great score with a fall! Her bars score sounds like judging around here too--level 6 bars scores here are always SO low. Hope she brings it all together for next time and her scores show it :)
