Little guy got his first rip today. Fortunately it was the last ten minutes of the last practice for the week. So we've done the antiseptic, sterile gauze, athletic tape thing for the night. Any other tips? By next practice he should be good to go. He's kind of proud of himself .

My daughter does straight aloe (no menthol cooling stuff) and wears cheapie dollar store "magic stretch gloves" to bed-- fresh aloe and blister band aids (the gel kind) during the day, then tape grips until they're healed.

we put carmex on...and don't cover it at home.

Thanks for the suggestions. He's in kindy so I am wondering what to do for school tomorrow. Fortunately it's his left hand and he is a righty.

Don't worry about it. If it's not open, it should be fine. Sometimes mine will keep a tape grip on at school if they have bad ones. And congratulations to him! It's . . . a milestone.
