Parents Flippers Meet Report

[Flippers Mom]

Flipper participated in a HUGE meet in Dallas this weekend with over 2,000 gymnasts. We had to drive (ice skate) through Oklahoma on Friday.

Floor - 9.025 (10th)
Vault - 8.8 (2nd, tsuk still needs polishing)
Bar - 8.4 (no place, was way behind when we changed gyms)
Beam - 9.525 (2nd)
AA - 5th

The family went along and we took the time to visit the aquarium and Dealy Plaza and the Sixth Floor Museum. A great weekend!

Was this the Metroplex Challenge??? That was one of the travel meets that we had a choice of voting on. For our gym Cancun Classic won out.

Great job on the vault.

We were there also... when did you guys compete? we competed Sunday at 8 AM

She competed at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday.

Flippers dad ran into a co-worker from 20 years ago. Both families have moved since then and the job wasn't in Texas. Both our girls compete L8 and were in the same session, same gym, even the same gym/rotation. What are the odds?

Great score for Flipper on beam! It sounds like her vault was pretty good too. I'm sure bars will come around soon. How long has it been since she switched gyms? Seems like it was a good move and she is set to have a great Level 8 season.

How fun running into an old co-worker, and truly amazing that you both have Level 8 gymnasts in the same session. Small world!

We were there also, Sunday 5 pm. Did you get a chance to see the NCAA or the level 10's compete in the arena? They were amazing and my daughter was thrilled to see Nastia's dad in person...she wanted to get his autograph
