Just curious how common this might be and what could help fix the problem ( I'm sure her coaches know but I'm curious)
Daughter hasn't been in gymnastics long but has progressed fairly quickly. She considered a 6/7. She has confusion issues when she's asked to do layouts. Instead of RO BHS...
I know both are G elements but is one harder than the other? In the 2008 olympics I saw a few double twisting double tucks but no full twisting double layouts.
I currently have a RO BHS full, front tuck front tuck and RO BHS back layout as my passes for level 8. I also have a switch leap into a wolf jump and a 1 1/2 turn. Am I missing a B??
Thanks. :)
I have been working on trying to put a tumble pass together, and I'm not that experienced in doing so. For the FHS and front layout individually, I do fine, but it seems impossible to connect them together into a pass, on the tumble track or the floor.
Is ther any good advice on that, or...
Hey guys!! So I have a pretty annoying issue right now. I need a double full by june in order to try out for a cheerleading team. I can do a r/o hand full right now, and they're actually pretty easy and I don't find twisting particularly difficult. I've always been able to make the entire...
A lot of our level six's are struggling with their layout fly-away dismounts on bars. We are not teaching them a tucked fly-away, but going straight to the layout. Does anybody have any good drills or technique suggestions for teaching a layout fly-away.
We currently have them do a lot of...
So, I know this is one amongst a number of front layout threads but I still need help. I just did a bit of searching through the forum and came across a few interesting discussions but not sure they really cover my viewpoint.
So I'm a MAG coach here in NZ, and got two level 3 boys moving up to...
Bella was doing ROBLO on the tumble trak earlier this week and one of the L9s mentioned that her layouts looked more like whipbacks.
What is the difference? And what does she need to do to make it a layout instead?
My dd is training level 9. She is 11 years old. She was a strong level 8 gymnast but her season was cut short by a broken fibula. After returning to full workouts she began learning 1 1/2 twists and doubles. All was going pretty well up until a month ago...but now she can't do a layout. She...
My DD is just starting to master her RO BHS BLO but she is having a problem with her body wanting to start twisting. She feels it starting and then has to compensate. She told me it kindof scared her a little. Any idea why this may be happening?
Okay guys I have a question to all you smart people out there. my teammate is probably going to compete a tsuk layout next year for level 9 and told me it is only worth a 9.7 SV. while a yurchenko layout is worth a 10.0 SV. i told her i would look into it so here is my question. arent both a...
Hey , Im luke and im just starting up being a physical education sport teacher in high schools. Im trying to plan a lesson on progressions focusing on the layout or rocket shape. But im currently struggling on finding some progressions into or after the rocket shape. So far i have the students...
I've been struggling for a long time with my back tumbling. We've been doing a LOT of work on the basics and I've got a pretty good round-off back-handspring now, and a better back tuck. My problem is that I can barely get my layout around and it goes too far back instead of up. Sometimes the...
How do you PROPERLY do a Pike and a Layout (E.g Head Position, Arms,Body Etc.)I need to get a Standing Pike -> Standing Layout -> Standing Full before July ( 4 Months ) I can do a Standing Tuck but it's not high enough for a pike (I'm messing up my ankle :( ). Tips to improve my Backtuck and...
Hi,
Could anyone please offer some tips on how to improve BHS layout stepouts on beam? I'm having trouble getting my chest up at the end. I think about setting first and bringing my arms up for the takeoff, but it seems like no matter how hard I throw it on the floor, my head is still low to...
My form is pretty good on my layouts, but every time I feel like I barely make it around. It kinda feels like I'm going really slow, even though the roundoff back hand spring is pretty fast. When I do my layouts my arms kind of do an arm circle to my thighs. Could that be affecting it? I've been...
