My dd, Jamy, is at the Karolyi camp for the Westerns/Easterns 9s and 10s. She is having fun and trying to perfect her Geinger, among other things. I don't think she' ll use it until States or Regionals. She has lost some of her enthusiasm in gymnastics. I am praying that this will re-ignite the...
Could you chime in on the quality of the food served at the gymnastics camps you have attended?
We just got back from 5 days at science camp and it was AWFUL. It was family camp week, and I would not send my children there alone until they were old enough to be making wise food choices on...
I know there are a ton of posts about Woodward vs. IGC but I was wondering if anyone thinks one is better than the other for a seven year old first time camper?
One of DD's coaches said IGC is more play and would recommend Woodward for a more intense program. She thought IGC would be fine...
So i was just browsing CB and a question poped into my head; do you think i'm too old to go to a gymnastics camp at my level?
Next summer i will be either 7 or 8 and i will be 15 (probably training 8) so do you think i should check out a gymnastics camp like woodward or IGC?
P.S. during the...
My dd did a summer dance camp with her ballet studio. They learned a lot in just one week. Dd had a blast!!! She is the first one to come out in the white skirt in the first routine and then she is wearing light blue shorts in the other numbers.

U.S. all-around champion Rebecca Bross of Plano, Texas, 2009 World all-around champion Bridget Sloan of Pittsboro, Ind., and 2008 Olympic team silver-medalist Alicia Sacramone of Winchester, Mass., are among the 12 women on the U.S. Senior National Team who have accepted invitations to...
Does anybody else wonder how this exactly came to be such the way to choose gymnasts to compete?
Personally I feel that sometimes how a gymnast performs in competition is an important part in proving themselves ready for the international competitive scence ie. the olympics and worlds...
I was just thinking that it is a shame that none of the youth style gymnastics camps (Woodward, FlipFest, International Gymnastics Camp, etc)offer an adults week. Maybe in conjunction with a mother/daughter/son or father/daughter/son type thing.
I know flipfest this year did a few weeks where...
Hello everybody,
our gym has a GFA (gymnastics for all) camp at our gym strictly for team girls (which is weird because it's called 'for all') and it's so much fun. We do about 7 hours every day for five days, and is a crucial time to get new skills.
We also had a tramp and tumbling specialist...
DDs went to a morning gymnastics camp this summer and loved it! It wasn't at our local gym and was more play than gymnastics but they had a ball and are already talking about wanting to go to another camp next summer.
This has got DH and I thinking. We live away from family and don't get much...
does anyone have any ideas for getting money for camp?? next year i want to go to 2 camps, so my mom said if i get ALL of the money for the more expensive one (about $700) then she would pay for all of the other camp (about$450)..so any ideas??
My DD just spent the last week at IGC. My question is about tipping the counselors. The materials note that you should feel free to tip, but don't feel obligated. My question is - who should be tipped and how much? There are a couple counselor's in the cabin, but different instructors for each...
Dropped off daughter at IGC camp Sunday. She was so excited all 3 girls were together in same cabin. She was playing when I left and seemed perfectly fine. Yesterday I was really missing her, it is really hard to go without calling her to check on her (I did not think it would be that...
Recently I started a thread about IGC, Link Removed and it sounds as if there are better camps out there. So I was wondering which camp you would recommend.
For the past few years I have been looking at IGC. It looks amazing, and I really would like to go, but it is far from here (canada). I was wondering if it is worth going. I would go for the experience, fun, but also to learn new skills. My gym is small, so I would be able to train in a better...
For those of you who are interested Joscelyn started off a little slow, just sort of feeling things out. Once she got the hang of things she was able to keep up. Her Mom said at the end of camp that she was the best tumbler there, but definitely needs work on the bars and the beam. I say thats...

Well, Emma and I are back from Camp Woodward. it was pretty fun. I had 16 girls in my cabin, ages 7-10. I had 1 really homesick girl, but for the most part I had a great group. As I feared the food was definitely an issue. Emma is allergic to dairy and eggs and had 2 reactions while I was...
