Any word on when results will be posted! The last two years were on 8/18 and 8/20. Maybe this year will be today 8/19. Who else is on pins and needles!!!!
This was my dd first time testing and I am happy it's over. Overall it was a great experience and she can't wait for next year when she gets to compete as an 8 yr old and test on skills.
For all those that tested I wish your little ones the best of luck!!
Now the fun starts on waiting if they...
I attended US Championships last year and was struck by the very few number of gymnasts the U.S. had on the senior Elite level, and among them, how few were able to compete all around. There were only 15 Seniors competing and somewhere around 40ish juniors. This is a very high drop out rate...
Just wanted to say good luck to all the gymmies at National TOPS testing this weekend!!!! My daughter (& teammates) have pretty much been either a basket case or zombies this week! I'm sure all these girls have worked really hard and I just want to remind everyone that as their parents, it is...
I'm planning on testing to become a judge either in late fall or early spring....possibly.
I'm just wondering any advice on studying for the test? Several people mentioned they made flash cards, what specifically did you make the flash cards for?
How did you go about studying? You need to know...
My 8 YO DD will be going to national TOPS testing this October. We are total newbies at this. We haven't even traveled more than an hour for a meet yet! I noticed housing is available at the ranch and hotels are also recommended. Does anyone experienced with this recommend an option? My DD...
My DD did not qualify as a ten year old to National Testing this year but was within a few points of the 82 cut off. I heard there had been some errors in calculating scores for her age group. Could things change or does anyone know if the cut off will change.
How does the scoring work? Do you have to have near perfect scores to generally qualify for national testing? DD just completed testing and I have no idea how this works!
As I guess one would expect, dd's coach has brought to our attention BG's drug testing policy at national events. She has also pointed out that dd may be asked to give a urine sample as she carries an inhaler (very rarely used - mainly just during stamina conditioning or swimming).
Although it...
DD is 7 this year, and as only trained these skills for the last couple months. She's insanely flexible and can knock out the leg lifts, but really not competitive elsewhere. Her max on press hand stands is 2, and I don't think she's held a regular handstand for longer than 5 seconds, in her...
Do you guys have strength and flexibility tests for your team gymnasts so that you can keep track how they are progressing? How often? What kind of things do you test an measure and how?
Does testing motivate your gymnasts to work harder?
We have just started to tests our gymnasts. These are...
Hi
I hope this is the right forum to post this (thought it might be Australia-specific, which is why I chose this one!)...
My DD is 4.5, and has been doing a recreational class all year. One of her coaches mentioned maybe getting her tested for their...well, I guess it would be a development...
This weekend was our first ever National TOPs testing at the ranch. I have to say it was a great learning experience for my daughter. Truly an amazing experience overall. Now we wait to find out if she did well enough to make Team A or Team B. Keeping fingers crossed bc she can't wait to back...
As a first time participant we were wondering if anyone has any links to videos of what is expected for national testing. It would be nice to get an idea if we are practicing accurately. Thanks so much.
My daughter did TOPs testing the other day and we were told that we will find out results in a few weeks (which is fine).... I understand it is a 60/40 split as far as how the scoring breakdown goes....
I am curious though- in the past where has the cutoff generally fallen? Our coaches told us...
During my dd's gym session they began (after warm up) with splitting into groups, they when then asked to perform a Forward Roll, Backwards Roll and Cartwheel on the floor and then a pull up attempt without support and one with support if they needed it ( my dd can nearly do one unsupported but...
Ok, so we might be moving to Hertfordshire in 18 months, and I am thinking of joining a squad. We have spoken to them and they said that you have to be assessed before you can be put on the waiting list.
So, I was wondering what kind of thing they would assess you on? What skills do you need...
