DD goes left. She is right handed as far as I know. Is left unusal? I'm not a gymnast, but can do simple things like a cartwheel, roundoff and I use my right hand/foot.
Dd1 wants to sign up for tumbling class this summer. I'm kind of surprised as she's the one who was really ready to be done with gymnastics. Of course I said "sure."

I have a show coming up on december 15 and the choreographer made me the "tricker" and I need to execute a cartwheel roundoff back handspring half twist. I have the cartwheel and round off down...but i cant get the back handspring...they want to change it to a cartwheel half twist roundoff...
For front tumbling passes, do you prefer to have gymnasts start with a front handspring or punch straight into the first salto of the pass?
I've seen it done both ways by many gymnasts. It seems to me the punch is easier to do correctly, while the handspring, if done right, provides more power...
I have just started coaching tumbling for a group of cheerleader's. I would like to know if anyone has any tips on how to keep them interested in the "gymnastics" part of they're training...they are some what difficult to work with....the cheer coach would like them to be clean and tight....and...
This is basically an offshoot of a side discussion we were having in the vault thread. I'd like to leave this fairly open; we can discuss handpsrings, tucks, layouts, doubles, whatever.
