On floor in level 7, do you have to have front handspring front tuck? what are other examples of stuff you could have?
Coming to US for competition next year and want to prepare.
My tumbling lines now are:
Front tuck step put round off back handspring back tuck
Round off back handspring back...
If you are a parent, do you let your kid tumble outside of the gym? If so, why?
If you are a coach, would you want your gymnasts tumbling outside the gym? If not, do you talk to them about this at the gym?
Mind blocks are the death of any gymnast, and it seems to happen to the best. Last year, one of our gymnasts won Level 5 AA at state, so it would seem smart to move her up to 6: strong gymnast, good basics. Then over summer, she just decided to give up on back tumbling: WILL NOT do Round off...
I am considering enrolling my daughter Katie (who will be 7 in June) in a tumbling class at her gym.
She just got her back bend kickover this past Sunday (she's so excited) so I think she's ready.
I asked what classes were available at our gym they have a beginner and advanced. I am thinking...
Last night my 4 year old went to her first trampoline and tumbling class. There is a really good T&T place 3 minutes from our house! Yeah! The team and my dd were the only ones in the gym at the time. Needless to say she was the only one that had signed up for her class I guess because of the...
Could someone give me some examples of an acro series with 3 flight elements for Prep Opt Silver? I know round off, backhandspring, backhandspring would be one. What are some other choices?
My dd has expressed interest in possibly trying T&T, but I don't know anything about it. Apparently our gym just started offering it this year (its at their other location, so we don't see it except at certain meets). What age are kids generally that do it or is it like gymnastics, in that any...
I got told at gymnastics yesterday that my round off flip sault is not fast or high enough. I can successfully do it and not fall but its really slow and to learn other tumbles from this base tumble I need to speed it up. Its not just with back tumbling though its with front tumbling too, I am...
Christmas has come and gone and while things have settled down a bit we are getting ready to get into our busy meet season. In my last meet update I mentioned the Christmas Shows and some of Lilly's tumbling she has been working on. Well, I finally got around to doing the montage and have it...
Most of us who coach have probably run into at least one kid who is physcially incapable of completely straightening their legs, due not to lack of tightness but due to simple joint structure.
I was thinking about this recently, and I came to a realization. I have seen four gymnasts with this...
I have literally just moved up to level 7, and my coaches decided to let me compete in the following winter/spring. Being generally fearless (to a fault) I have a lot of options for floor. I can do front handspring front tuck, pike, and layout, but my layouts need practice. On floor, back...
Just curious, I did a search but didn't get much. As of yesterday J is gonna do both and I was wondering how thats worked for others?
Our gym has a T-N-T team but the kids are all WAY older than J (who is almost 7) She is currently in a dev group for WAG 3x a week and goes 1x a week to...
I don't have advice, but I am the same. I was taking a tumbling class and we would sometimes do back rolls in warmups - very dizzy. Same with BHS. I teach preschool and demonstrated a forward roll on a wedge - same thing. I have to stick to handstands & cartwheels.
I am no help, but she is...
A little background: My daughter was on a tumbling team for 1 year. She is 6. She decided she wants to try gymnastics.
My question: Should I start her in a recreational program? She has a ROBHSBHS, clean bridge walkover, handstand, so I am not sure what is appropriate?
Thanks in advance and...
Clarification: For Front Salto Tumbling (not fronthandspring)
I'm a bit old school and trying to keep up with the times. So I need some edu-ma-cation, clarification here. Again, couldn't find anything definitive in any previous posts about this so posting a new thread.
I've been to a few...
Ok so I was reading the new code and the one thing that got me the most angry was lunging out of tumbling passes. Basically, you can't take a controlled lunge out of your tumbling passes. If the gymnast takes a step or a hop on their tumbling passes, they will get deducted from .1 to .3...
Does any one know of any specific trampoline, double mini and tumbling message boards? I have googled it and came up with nothing. I know there is the "other than artistic" board on here but not many people visit it and reply. Thank you for any help!

I am thinking of competing trampoline, double mini and power tumbling. I am in the US and I am an adult if that matters. I have so many questions I don't know where to start. I do realize I need to talk to my coach but I want some ideas off here first. How many competitions do you normally do...
Does your gym have a standard on what to do with girls who are mental blocking? I often wonder if anyone really has a handle on what to do when a child won't throw their tumbling.
