That is debatable. They OBVIOUSLY can't do both in the same SESSION, but affiliated judges CAN be used under certain circumstances.
We actually had a situation in which a judge left extremely ill after one session. The only judge available happened to be a coach for one of the other teams. She did not coach the sessions she judged... And it was within the rules.

That was an emergency, but no, they can't judge and coach in the same meet, per USAG and NAWGJ.

In my coaching career, I've never been in a separate room from the judges. I understand the reasoning why they are supposed to be separate, but my roommate and sisters, as well as other coaches from our gym are judges so there's that. Always have pop and coffee, meet days/weekends are long and we end up running mostly on caffeine! One of my favourites has got to be lasagne! Popcorn in ziplock bags has been a favourite too

Beam deductions

Hi everyone! I’m hoping to get some help understanding my deductions on beam. I’ve been watching my videos back, but I’m having trouble figuring out exactly where the judges are taking the most off. If anyone is willing to take a look and give me some feedback, I’d really appreciate it. I’m especially curious about execution deductions, rhythm/connection issues, and anything in my acro or dance that might be costing me. The judge started me at a 10 for this routine, and I got a 9.1
