My DD has been struggling with her chin-ups for a long time. She was the last in her L3 preteam group to finally get her first one, and she's the only one that still cannot complete 10 consecutive during conditioning. Coach usually helps her by holding her legs and pushing up. For some reason...
My dd has had time off as she wanted to do dancing for this term then start at her new gym next term. They emailed me and asked if my dd wanted to attend their strength and flexability today. She wanted to go and can I say she just made me so proud of her. Her strength was down a little bit...
Just got home from dropping my daughter off at the gym. She arrived a little early and wanted to show her coach how close she was to getting her kip. She had actually found a little spot at the playground where there was a nice spot to practice. It has a raised spot in the back and a bar in...
J. has sort of had her glide kip for a month. Sort of being the fact that she could get herself up about 20% of the time. So definitely not consistent - but hey - we took it! Last night I got to the gym a little early and she had just moved to bars. Oh my gosh - she looked completely...
When walking into the gym to pick up Alex last night one of her coaches told me that she did a BHS on high beam (no spot) AND she did giants on the pit bar (with spot). I am so proud of her!! She has been struggling for so long with mental blocks and such and it is all coming together this...
So I stumbled into this position.... but I'm SO excited! As a junior in college, I'm going to be the head coach of the only high school team in the area! Just waiting for my contract to come in the mail.
This is after teach preschool/rec at the local Y all of last year, assistant coaching the...
Well, can't help it because seeing my daughter grinning from ear to ear had me wanting to share this. She got her kip tonight!! She has been working so hard on this and it has been her main goal over the past 6 months (ever since the coaches started uptraining). She had the older girls...
So my niece is loving her new gym and structured practices and skills and everything. Like I said up until this summer she'd been doing rec classes through the city recreation district. I brought her to a few gyms and we both really like the one she's at. Anyway she tested into a L 5 group...
Tonight some other team moms and I went to visit our girls at Woodward. The pot was sweetened somewhat by the fact that there is a very good restaurant near Woodward (Aside: Anyone with kids going to Woodward in PA HAS to stop at the Elk Creek Cafe in Millheim... locally raised meats, locally...
Little DD had her first TOPs testing today. She is not quite there on the straddle presses and the cast handstands, but she's worked hard and gotten a lot better on many of the skills. Her coach did come out proudly today and tell me that she got a perfect score on her bridge! And a point...
Never thought I'd get to post in this group but I am! My older half brother has a daughter who just turned 9. I am living with them this summer because I am doing a sports med/coaching internship at one of the local Deaf colleges at kids sports camps. Anyway my niece had been doing gym classes...
I am happy to say that my DS (6) is now an official gymnast! He has been taking a rec class for about 2 months now and he got his first rip about a week ago! Also, last night he did a pullover by himself for the first time and (with a little assistance....ok, alot of assistance) he did a cast...
My dd J. has been so close to getting her kip for a couple of weeks. Last night it finally happened!!! She was able to do 4 kips and she is really excited about coming to practice tonight to do more. I am so glad she got it 3 weeks before we head off to Disney so that she can continue...
She was stretching last night and this is the farthest she's ever gotten. She loves it when I read people's comments to her, so she asked me to put this on the "puter" for my friends to see. :)
Maggie took first at the Level 3 Wisconsin State Meet. Woohoo! She was only one of four kids in her age group. This is the first meet that she ever made her mill circle (of course she did 1 1/2 of them...oh well)! Here's her beam video from State and a video for each of my other kids...
Holy wow.
ALL my T&Ters qualified to nationals. Several qualified on all 3 events. I knew they could do it, but bad meets happen and...oh my gosh. We have 20 athletes qualified for nationals.
They all really brought it. This is SO EXCITING!
Yesterday at practice Midget finally got over the vault table without a spot.
All she needs now for level 5 is her Kip. She has done that with a hand spot, ugly but did it. And every day after practice she goes on about how close it is. LOL
The girl wants to get it so bad!
But anyway, I am...
Kyrie just got her double full!!! I am so proud of her, she never fails to amaze me so I thought I would just share my happy moment. Thanks!!!

Just wanted to have a little brag that my dd finally made 5 kips tonight. She has been working very hard to get it and finally did. Now she has all her skills for regionals all thanks to the snr girls giving her some tips.
Anna had her 4th little in-house meet that her gym does for the pre-team kids and for the first time EVER she actually did a little handstand on the high beam! I was completely and utterly shocked. She's never, ever done one before on the high beam, not even in practice. She can do them pretty...
