    Women College gymnastics

I'm looking for a division 1 gymnastics team that is not so good and a college that will except a gpa of about a 2.5. I want to do college gymnastics but I'm not good enough to go to Florida, Arizona, or ucla. Also division 2 schools will be okay too. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks everyone

    Leicester New College

Has anyone had children who have competed at New College Leicester? My oldest dd has her NDP Grades there this Sunday. I am wondering if there is a cafe on site that is open on a Sunday or drinks / snack machines available.

    Women Odds of College Gymnastics

Hello ChalkBucket, I am a 16-year-old level 6 gymnast. I started gymnastics almost two years ago, and absolutely fell in love with the sport. It is my biggest regret that I didn't start earlier, but I can't change that, so instead I work extremely hard and am very dedicated. It is my dream to do...

Women College question for coaches or parents/athletes who have been there done that

From the perspective of a family who makes enough money to not get much if any financially-based aid, but who does not make enough to not ask what things cost..... And a great student, but not an amazing academic phenom (not in top 1% of test scorers but in top 10% etc)... What would be the...

    My age.... and college gymnastics..

Okay is it completely impossible for me to be part of a division 1 college gymnastics team? I am a sophomore in high school and I am a level 8?... I don't know what to do. My coach keeps telling me division two but if I'm going to do college gymnastics I would prefer division one. Am I crazy to...

Women College vs independent summer camps

Ok, a bit overwhelmed with all the options... At first I was going to send dd to FlipFest because it's I just a 10hr drive. But I just found out about all these universities offering camps for cheaper. Which is best? FF is about $750 and a college camp is less than $500 on average. What do you...

Men How does college recruiting work for the guys?

It seems pretty straightforward for the girls -- get to upper level optionals early and make it to L9/L10 nationals and then just be visible and try to build up some mutual interest between schools/gymnasts. But since the guys peak later, when do boys really need to start being visible to have a...

    Women College recruitment

So how does this work really. We have had several college coaches in our gym the last month ( one was from my alma mater and I really had to restrain myself from saying that I watched EVERY meet there while in college :D ) What are they looking for exactly, how do they decide to come to a...

Parents HS blog pages for girls considering college gymnastics

Do any of your HS girls have a blog page with info for recruiters? Any way I can see some examples out there?? Are the links on their club pages or somewhere else? Thanks!

Women Watching college meet on-line & clueless commentators

Dear college meet commentator, I know at the beginning of the broadcast I was tough on you for calling every move a flip (including every vault and every release and dismount on bars.) But, after listening to you describe beam and floor I think I prefer you just calling it all flips. At one...

Women College Gymnastics - Live Streaming?

I seem to remember someone posting a website that live streams some NCAA meets a long time ago, but my search turned up nothing. Does anyone know where meets can be live-streamed?

Women Favorite college team to watch?

My DD is so excited. We get to see two college meets this year. Our first one is University of Utah vs. BYU vs. South Utah Univeristy and the second one is Boise State vs. Southern University. While the BSUvs SUU will be fun and we will be able to sit really close and cheer the one we are...

What are the odds of college/university gymnastics?

I'm 14 and a level one in amerikids YMCA gymnastics. I've progressed as fast as possible for starting in May. I'm on the competitive team after I made tryouts. They are selective. I got my splits down after hard work in 2 weeks. I'm progressing fast. I will stay in it through highschool. I...

Women Optional/College Programs: Is it the real deal?

We are in the process of looking for a quality optional program that has experience developing collegiate gymnasts. Our DD is a level 7 that has had good success in the past and has been told by former elite coaches that she has potential. The hardest part now has been separating the fakers from...

Women So when do you think/consider college gymnastics?

So when do you start having to consider your options for college? It seems like academically you have to start thinking about college earlier and earlier and I was wondering when do you have to start making decisions gymwise about competing? Is there a level and age? What do you have to...

    Women College gymnastics

Women What determines division in college gym?

Its obvious with the top d1 schools but I have seen some great d2 gymnasts. Some even better than some d1 gymnasts. So what determines the line? What is better to be a top d2 gymnast or an ok d1 gymnast?

    Possibilities for college gymnastics?

My dd is 14 going into freshmen year next year. Her coaches have told her she will compete level 10 (first year) as a freshman. I know of 12 year olds in level 10 so I'm wondering if this lowers her chances at a gymnastics scholarship... It's her dream but I'm wondering if it's a realistic...
