This sport has taught me to be patient but we are 3weeks out of a big travel meet with no schedule. This is a big gym that has many meets. Hoping the flights I scheduled will work and I don’t loss money because they are so late. It’s rude!!!!
Anyone else in the same boat?
Do Child A, B, C, D/Junior A, B, C/Senior A, B, C categories have set ages to them, or do they vary by meet? Does anyone know what they mean for Ozone (TN)? Thanks!
My newly turned five year old had her first level 2 meet. She came in next to last with a all around score of 25-26ish(can’t recall the exact score). She looked to be one of the youngest at the meet, if not the youngest. She was definitely the smallest kid competing in her level. Most kids in...
Wow, there is so much to learn- so many differences between boys' and girls' gymnastics! DS started off in a 1 hour rec class in March and then joined the team over the summer. The way his gym is set up the boys practice way in the back and I haven't seen him do any gymnastics. My husband and I...
Success! A wonderful first meet experience and looking forward to this next one. I was so nervous but now that we have a baseline it feels easier to help her set personal goals and prepare.
Any other newbies here?
Thanks for all your help!
I’m relatively new to competitive gymnastics (I was doing recreational up until two years ago), and this year is the first year for my gym that the competitions are judged. For reference I’m a level 3 :). I’m not quite sure what qualifying for state entails completely, but for Ohio, my state, I...
Hello! I crossposted this information below to "Introductions," please let me know if this isn't allowed and I will remove. :)
I have two step children that are highly competitive gymnasts. The one thing I learned very rapidly is that gymnastics has its own ecosystem and politics. It's...
I have two step children that are highly competitive gymnasts. The one thing I learned very rapidly is that gymnastics has its own ecosystem and politics. It's different, than say, soccer.
At this moment, I am trying to learn about some of the requirements, without stepping on actual parent's...
We recently had a USAG sanctioned, official meet with levels 3/4/5. Our girls did great, including my DD, who scored a 38.8 AA, unexpected and her highest AA ever... While we got the awards ceremony, and I know my DD’s scores, the hosting gym did not post results anywhere. Not on their website...
Hi there,
I am taking two of DDs teammates to a travel meet. I have paid for a hotel room with the three girls and have purchased flights for the four of us. In asking the other families for reimbursement do you think I should have them each cover a share of my costs (i.e. divide everything by...
So my daughter has noticed for a long time that she is least flexible at her Saturday morning practices. She's just a bit more stiff. She is not the most flexible to begin with! She got assigned the first early morning session at her upcoming state meet. We will be staying at a hotel the...
Wondering if anyone’s gym has hosted their own meet in an outside venue and been required to obtain a music license. This is the first time our gym has encountered this after hosting several meets. Any information including cost would be greatly appreciated- thanks :)
hello everyone!
We will be traveling from the Midwest to Long Beach this year for the feb meet. Any travel tips, places to stay, must see places, cheap air fare recommendations ect is welcome! Any and all info appreciated, especially money saving ideas!!
Thanks
Hi! My daughter is four years old and training level 2. She turns five shortly before her first competition. I know she will be competing against kids who are older and better than her. I know she isn't going to win and that is totally ok with me. I want her to have fun at competitions. How do...
I had 4 xcel platinum girls last year. The decision has been made to move over to the JO program. Based off of skills and scores last year, these girls are ready for level 6 (almost level 7).
Instead of competing at extra meets to have them qualify through level 4 and 5, I heard about mobility...
This question may seem naive; my dd is a level 4 and been to the same gym since she started. Last year our gym started to travel to out-of-state meets, mandatory for optional but not for compulsories although it was strongly encouraged. We, as a family, decided to skip on these travels because...
Our gym is looking at the Aloha Gymfest in Oahu, Hawaii, January 2019. Have any of your gyms participated in this meet? Would love some feedback especially where to stay and your overall experience. Thanks so much!
Finally got around to uploading Lily's routines from the HOPES Classic to her YouTube channel. Still in shock, but it's a good kind of shock!!! Can't believe that the championships are less than 3 weeks away!!!
