It was an early morning, 8am report. Little monkey was hoping to start on beam which is her favorite rotation, but they were scheduled to start on floor, her 2nd favorite. My camcorder didn't cooperate so I didn't tape floor. It was uneventful, with a few little "dings", she got 9.0 (5th...
Here we go. We got back at 10:30pm last night after a hairy drive through the snowy backroads of Quebec, lovely! The meet ran late by 35 minutes and by the end everyone just wanted to leave!
As always DD was a great team member, cheered, hugged and supported. Wish I could say the same about...
Sorry I have been absent lately but this year I have a job too so it makes posting to the board as much as I want to almost next to impossible sometimes...
Anyway, Emily has had two meets since I last posted an update.
She had the Diamond Jewel Invitational on Jan 17th. She scored a season...
She is inching her way up, sloooowwwwwwly! Compared with 2 weeks ago, DD improved on Beam, FX and bars. Vault is another story. I didn't get to see warmups as they were in a separate gym, so I didn't know until afterwards that the warmup for Vault was into a pit, just like our gym. The girls...
*Warning...brag alert*
Hello fellow Chalk Bucketeers :)
Friday was Pixie's 1st USAG Level 4 meet after being moved up from just plain ol' level 4! She did so-so, score wise. But came out feeling like a princess!
She had such a blast she was glowing from head to toe! She really enjoyed the...
We are back from an exciting weekend - DD2 competed on Saturday at 8am and DD1 at 5pm on Sunday so we stayed in town the whole weekend and spent time hanging out with friends.
DD2 kept us guessing the whole week whether she was going to be able to compete bars or not - her first meet she had...
Yesterday was dd's 1st Level 8 Sectional. It was Capital Cup
format and there were 25 girls in dd's age group. Up through
Level 7 they has always had multiple locations for Sectionals,
usually 1 would take place in the South part of the state and 1
would be in the North (on the same day) and...
Beetle's 3rd meet was yesterday. Third meet week in a row! This felt like a really short week since we were out of state last week for The Chow's meet. I can't wait for this upcoming weekend, we don't have a meet and I get to finally clean my house!!
For the 3rd week in a row, she started on...
I guess after this meet nothing should surprises me anymore. It was a small meet. One age group for Level 9.So I guess anywhere from age 11 to 17 or so.
Started out on bars were she did bad the last time. She worked really ard over the last week and although her score was not great she improved it...
Dd's report time was 2pm. There were 2 gyms set up and dd's
team was in Gym A. I have no idea how many girls she competed
against as there was no score sheet. They only gave out a rooster
of everyone who was competing, their flight and the event they were
starting on, but you had no idea who...
Well most of you have already seen her floor when I posted my "guess the score game", but here is the rest of the story.....
YouTube - Emma's 2nd Level 6 Meet 1/14/09
1st up- Floor
I was totally a wreck during the warm up. My poor dd could not land her front tuck on her feet. This floor...
My girls competed in their 1st meet of the season yesterday. It was a Ready Set Go meet where the judges critique the gymnasts after each rotation. They receive only AA awards, the individual scores were given, and just posted this morning.
Big DD- level 8 - their rotation was her favorite...
Theme - We had our Up and our Downs and live to talk about them....
What an interesting meet. It was definitely far from the best. Of course she had an 8am report time, YUCK! We live about 40 minutes from where the
meet was so we left around 6:45am. Mom's night before ritual, very
restless...
Well, dd competed at the Christmas on the Chesapeake yesterday - bright and early (8am report time).
There were 18 girls in her age division - Modified Capital cup format. There were 2 flights, so there was something going on at all times. Dd was with her teammates (there were 8 of them) and...
Our Winter State meet took place this weekend and both girls had a blast and recorded some "firsts" that they are very proud of, so here goes:
DD3 - Level 3
8.55 on floor - 5th place
8.55 on vault
8.45 on bars - 5th place
9.2 on beam - 2nd place
AA 34.75 - 3rd place
She was so excited...
Here is the update on Bug's first level 4 meet. I will get video up later today.
For the level 4's they received scores that were not flashed, and also there was no placements given for either all around or events. Everyone received the same partication medal and ribbons for each event...
Dd had first Level 8 meet yesterday.
She competed Capital Cup and there were 22 girls in her age group (9-12yr olds).
I'll try to keep this simple:
First up Floor:
She hit all her passes and did a beautiful job, but stepped out of bounds on her first pass. Funny thing was, she was so...
Ah well there have been better, there have also been worse. I have to give it to her, she is tenacious and has great team spirit. When team mates are crying over their bad scores, she is the one giving them a high five and a hug.
Here are the scores, they will mean nothing to most of you, so...
My daughters third meet of the season was on Saturday. This was kind of a dreaded one, because at the same meet last year she had one of those "off days", complete with falling off beam, tripping up on floor, crashing on vault, and the "accidental giant" on bars!! I posted in the Good Luck...
How's that for a nice, non-threatening title? :D Better than last week? Did I do well?
Seriously, I don't know why I'm even reporting....I swore I would leave you all alone & not bore you w/ our details from every single pickin' meet, but...
...As I am a sucker for feedback, I decided to...
