HC decided to take the L3 girls to States next month and they needed to get a sanctioned in state meet in before it so we switched to a local meet for this weekend. No time to get to the video right now, and I am traveling for work next week so it might be a little bit but thought I would share...
OK the wait is over our first meet is under our belts and Bug rocked it. She placed 3rd all around against girls that were one their 3rd or 4th meet of the season.
Bars was first, 9.25, bent arms and near fall on cut back, but the rest was great.
Beam 9.225 (personal best) wobble...
LM competed at the Acorn Team Cup so if you didn't have enough kid in your level to make a team (3) they were put in a mixed "all star" session - we had Level 3's, 5, 6, 7's.
LM had her favorite coach there so she was very positive.
First up was bars - warmups looked great! However, she...
Hi everyone! Well, Kylie had her third L4 meet yesterday, Fright Invite, which was a Halloween themed meet. Very fun with lots of candy and judges in costumes. The competition was tough, several very strong teams from Fl.
First up, vault. She has really been struggling with vault. She...
Thank you to all who shared those fairies with us yesterday. Older DD did well...definitely some good, some bad, and some ugly!
The meet was super cute Halloween-themed with day-glo all over the place and "carnival games" between each event.
First up was vault...not her strength but she...
Olivia had her 4th meet this weekend and it was a close replica of last week. Great floor! OK vault! Bars were sloppy and went over on her mill circle again!! And her jumps and leaps lack aptitiude on beam!
Here are her scores:
FX: 8.65 down from last week's 9.0 (placed 5th)
VT: 8.55 gets...
Well, Big D competed her Level 6 Jr. A District Championship last night and did good,
They started on vault and she got a 9.1 her highest score so far on vault and good enough for 2nd place
Then came bars, good routine, still working on getting those casts higher (they are working on cast to...
Well...no 9's tonight at our in-house meet for little DD...but also no 6's or 7's (or 5's which we have also gotten before!:o) We will take it! She also ended up finishing 2nd place in all 4 events and 2nd all around (out of 3...but...;))
Here are her scores and most importantly her BARS...
Alex had her first Level 4 meet this past weekend. She did awesome!! 1st place AA with a score of 34.2.
Bars - 8.75 - 2nd place
Beam - 8.2 - 3rd place
Vault - 8.75 - 2nd place
Floor - 8.5 - 2nd place
A few little issues to work on for her next meet but over all a great meet for her...
Good news is that Little Monkey qualified for Sectionals.
The frustration news.....and meet report:
First off, it seems that scoring is tougher in the southern part of the state - maybe Granny Smith can comment. This was our first invitational meet that was "down south" but it seemed across...
Oct 3rd, USAG Fall State qualifier.
This was a fun meet! I mean, really fun. We had gyms from all areas of Missouri attend, and the competition was pretty tight. Nastia was moved up to the 10 yr olds group since she'll be 10 during the Spring 2010 meet. This alone made her very nervous as we...
Well I love competition season! I love the excitment and all the stress that comes with it. This meet was especially nice for us for several reasons. First of all we were able to meet a fellow CBer, gym-mom-fla. It was so nice to actually be able to put a face to a name around here. And to watch...
Whew, what a day!
Even though Midget did not start until 1 PM we drove up last night and stayed in a hotel so there was no rush this morning. Drive is not bad but still 2.5 hours early was not something I wanted to do. Plus it makes the whole thing a big deal for the dd.
Even though there was...
Well first meet of the season went good with some really big surprise! This was a judges cup and they gave out written critiques to take home.
She started on floor. This is by far her favorite event. She looked really good to me, but of course I am her mama. I saw a few mistakes but apparently...
So we had our first meet on Saturday. More geared towards fun and identifying coaching opportunities, and to let some of the newer girls see what they will be getting into in a month or so.
Midget looked really good in warmups on beam, floor, and bars. Vault though, well lets just say her run...
Since it is the off-season, I thought I'd report on my little DD's in-house meet.:)
Here is a little background...
She is 5 years old and is on the L2 team at our gym plus doing TOPS training. She was invited to be on the L2 team and TOPS by the gym's head coach who noticed "something...
DD had her L6 State meet this past weekend. She had a great time and is happy to be done competing these routines. Hopefully, on to level 7. She had a really good day except for bars, her nemisis.
First event was bars, and she fell on the squat on, but other than that it was pretty good. 7.2...
We had our third and last meet yesterday, it really had it's ups and downs.
Oldest Bog really wanted to qualify for Provincials and in the system she can qualify as an event specialist. She had a very good chance on Tramp, and a perhaps on bars and beam. She has wokred very hard on all three...
We had our 1st USAIGC meet last night. The session before us ran late, so we didn't get in on time and first event didn't start till after 7pm. Plus we had 24 girls entered, 20 competing with 2 coaches...which should have been fine except they were trying to rush things along and we had half...
