Cait is excited to be invited to National TOPs testing again. Cut-off score for 10s was 72; Caitlyn scored 80. We're in the process of buying new leos, clothes, and airfare. Our particular gym makes no money off of TOPs (and it's our belief that USAG doesn't, really, either, but let's not...
Hi All:
My DD is 6 and did not complete a TOPs test yet, however our coach has given us a heads up that for 2011 she is confident she will be ready. She'll be 7 in Nov. I know the testing is held in June and July, however when and how are you notified of selection? Thanks in advance! :unitedstates:
Hi. I am new to chalk bucket. I was surfing the web and picked up some great information from some of you. I am also pretty new to gymnastics. One of my four children is a 9 year old gymnast on her 3rd year in the team. She will be a level 6 this year and may go to level 7 later this year...
Ok here's a quick little post to let you all know (those who are interested) how Liv's last test went. We are currently on a road trip vacation and don't have much time to responded properly but.....I'll do my best and check in occationally.
She started on handstand hold. She ALWAYs pratices...

Ok well as some of you know i had my first comp on today so after driving 5 hours, getting a flat tire and ringing every tire store in every town within a 2.5 hour radius and no luck we risked using the spare for the remainder of the trip there and back.
Well first up was beam and i was...
Well, we survived the first testing!!
Liv woke up very excited and was up early and ready to go!! I on the other hand was a nervous wreck!!!
She started on Cast Handstands which she started going veritcal on a couple weeks ago. However for testing purposes she was advised to NOT hit...
Well we survived our first state meet. I swear I am glad that is only once a year. I think our entire family except for DD was stressed out. So here goes. DD was in the first session of the two day meet. She was so excited to compete. She started on the "BEAM" which did not help the nerves but...
We have been going crazy since before the end of meet season and I have been horrible about updating and posting. I haven’t even watched the video from her meet, much less uploading it to the computer in order to do a montage.
We had a lot of fun over that weekend. Madigym00’s DD...
So this is my first meet since i have been out for two years!
Beam; 9.275, 1 place!:D ( I have never placed that high well excpet in level 3 when I got a 9.5 on bars)
Bars; 8.750, 4 place! ( Just got over the fear of jumping the high bar broke my shoulder doing that move 2 years ago)...
Hey everyone Amber had her second meet in her new gym.
Vault- warm up was awful she fell off the vault coach had to catch her , real vault good 9.0- 8th place
Bars- two rips ouch..8.7-5th place
Beam-9.1 3rd place
Floor-8.8 6th place
AA 35.6-5th place of 10
My first level 7 meet was yestarday, and I did a lot better than I thought I would!
Vault: My steps were all messed up, and so my vaults looked not as good as they do in practice. I got a 8.75.
Bars: I only had a 9.2 start value because I competed without my flyaway. But I did both of...
OK I posted in the thread of Bug's 2nd level 5 meet that the roster and her score card said she was in the 8 and under age group, but they did awards as 9 and under. Results are posted today, and her scores are posted in 8 and under. So instead of having awards based on 40 girls (15 in 8 and...
First let me say I have been reading everyones Posts but have not been able to respond to any of them. Sounds like another fun filled weekend of 1st Optional Meets (way to go Cait), The MN Winter Challenge was well attended by Chalk Bucketers!
We woulda competed that meet but instead we hit...
Well Cait, after 3 months of prep, had her first level 7 meet of the season. I won't bore you with tons details but she did wonderful....
First up was floor - very good job, a little rushed but good enough for a 9.250 and 1st place
Next was vault - normally her best event score wise, decent...
Yesterday I competed in another meet. (2nd level 7 meet this year)
My scores were
Vault: 8.75
Bars: 7.5
Beam: 8.1 (5)
Floor: 8.65 (4)
AA: 33.0 (4)
I started at a 9.5 on beam beacuse I wiggled between my cartwheel and roundoff.
Bars is naturally my weakness and I thought I was going to score...
DD had a meet last week. It was originally scheduled for before Christmas but because of the snowstorm that hit NJ it was post-poned. It was re-scheduled for Dec 30th and a weeknight. That was OK for the kids who were off school, but for me that still had to work it was hard to rush home, get DD...
So I just had another evaluation today. Not the best time to have it since I was at a christmas party until 12 last night, but I was desperate to get it done before break.
Beam was okay, fell on the cartwheel but everyone knows I can do it. Bars urghh hadn't done a kip for over a week (had a...
Well Amber had her last level 3 meet today. We had quite a morning and were running late, forgot her water, gym bag and glitter for her hair and her good luck dolls that have followed her for 3 years to every meet. Go grandma gave her a good luck purse and off we went. We barely made it on time...
