She was first thing in the morning--which she usually likes, but it's not so fun when you're the only one from your team there. NONE of the other girls came early to cheer her on, so she was upset about that too.
But she started on bars--where she wanted to start--and was first up--like she...

DD has her Rookie 2 State Meet on Sunday. We have a 3:30 start with an hour drive. Cannot complain about that.
Any fairies you can spare would be great ! I am not sure how far they will break down the age groups this time. Last year they had a lot of girls and broke it all the way down to...
Daughter had her first out of state meet in the Big Apple this past weekend. I am really proud of her and her team-mate not because they got great scores (they did well judging was tough and some really good teams). They we there with just the two of them(9 and 10- level 5's) most of the the...
We had our 2nd to last meet of the season today. DD has been trying all year to get her state score but at first with low bar scores and no tsuk vault at Level 8 it was tough.
Well today she did it!! She got a AA 34.1 all you need is a AA 33.5 Yippee.
She has not been to state for 2 years...
Pixie had her first out of state meet this past weekend and she loved the whole experience! The meet was the Land of Oz Invitational and she had circled this meet since we got the schedule. She had really been looking forward to it, especially since she was Dorothy for Halloween.
Let me just...
Congratulations to NorCal for winning the 2010 National Judges' Cup State Meet! For those of you who are unfamiliar with this meet, a number of states select and send Level 7 teams to compete against each other. This year, the National Judges' Cup was held in Kentucky. NorCal was one of 20...
Using the age at state meet drives me nuts. My poor DD always seems to get moved up because of this and she gets so sad as there is a girl in her group that should have been moved up to level 5 this year (she is amazing 2nd year level 4 gymnast that noone can beat). Always taking 1st, my dd is...
Okay let's start with my level 6:)
State was the weekend of Dec 12/13 here in Nebraska.
Emily's group was once again the toughest age group for the level 6s.
Emily started Floor...Warmups... you guessed it...didn't go very well at all.
Stress was bringing back her roundoff bhs mental blocks...
Hi, this is my first year in Prep Op and at a new gym. At my old gym I was in rec. team so there wasn't State..
My question is what does your AA score have to be to qualify for State?
I hope someone can answer my question.
Thanks~
I will start by saying I am not overly experienced with all of this. Having said that, I think that having L3 compete at state meets is silly.
The reason I think this is that its supposed to be a developmental level no? Sure, gain some experience with local meets but anything beyond that, is...
DD had her 3rd meet first thing this morning. She keeps having beam "issues", but even still she finally made the 32AA to qualify to the state meet in March.
Here's the play by play...
Floor: Very nice routine. A little piked on the dive roll and arched on the back extension roll, but...
First of all I must say I am so proud if my DD and her teammates, they did awesome.
DD did very well. I was hoping she would finish in the top half of her age group and she did!! There were 21 girls in her age group. They gave out medals to 11th.
She also had her personal best floor and...
