I am coaching a high school team and I have a girl who is doing a front handspring onto the board right into a front handspring onto the vault. It's looks really amazing but pretty sure it's not allowed. Does anyone know what this is called???
Thanks!
Just wondering
How long does it take to learn how to do a yurchenko vault a year, 2 months
are do you have to do drills for 5 years leading up to it ?
Thanks
My DD has been working a tsuk for Level 8. They are not consistent. Her coach started her on Full Off's last night.
Does anyone know the start vaule for a full twist off the vault for L8?
There seems to be some confusion at our gym regarding the Level 3 Vault. What is it suppose to be? One of dd's coaches is calling a handstand dive roll. And dd does a handstand and then rolls out of it. It doesn't look right, though. I've seen on youtube and it looks more like a dive forward...
In level 4-6 on vault, boys are judged on their run and their arm circle, among other things. THey are deducted if their hands cross the center line of their bodies on the run, and they are deducted if they don't arm circle.
Leszek Blanik would lose an entire point before he even reached the...
it is crazy
i can understand maybe a small deduction for going before the green light BUT REALLY giving a zero at the olympics to someone who would have most likley placed is not right!!!!
My dd is training level 8. SHe doesn't have a great handspring vault but managed to pull of mid- high 8s all season. Now the coachhas her training Tsuks. Would a yurchenko be better for her since her handsprings were just OK or is Tsuk the choice for most level 8s. SHe is one f the only ones in...
This question should be cleared up pretty quickly I do believe. I had heard that there was a USAG discussion about a vault change for optionals. I know that level 8's are allowed to do (limited) yurchenkos, but I know it was also discussed that level 7's would be permitted to do a yurchenko...
I want to learn a fhs full vault for next season.
Right now, my coaches are having me do fhs half vaults.
However, I start twisting before my hands leave the table which,
even without the coach's clarification, I know is wrong. I know logically when to
twist and what to do, but the vault...
This is my first year coaching team by myself, and on a regular schedule. As I have ranted about in other posts on here, our new director is moving girls up too quickly. I am coaching level fives once a week. Only one of the girls has her kip at all, and none of them can do cartwheels on the...
DD got her tsuk's by herself yesterday !!! She also started working yurchenko's and was doing really good with them. :)
So who wants to trade - I'll trade the vault fairy for the bar fairy. Once she is up in a handstand she can do her giants no problem - the problem is getting up into that...
Hi,
wondering if anyone has some great ideas to help the younger gymnasts with getting the idea of leaning back on the beatboard then driving their heels.
I have broken the vault down and the get the leaning back on the beatboard, and they get the heel drive, but when you join it to gether its a...

Can anyone tell me if there is a deduction for being spotted on a vault, but not touched? My dd is a Level 8, and does a tsuk. She was not touched by her coach during a recent competion, but the judge told the coack that she deducted for being spotted. I thought only if they were touched would...
My question is in regard to a method being used to work on tsuk vaulting at our gym. My dd is a level 8 and already does tsuks in competition. When I went to pick her up after practice one day I noticed there was a very large mat directly under the vault (where you would land). It is a 20" think...
Is the arm circle required on the level 4 vault?
Why do some teams do the arm circle and some don't?
It seems that the teams who do it, get higher vault scores.
Just wondering...
