If your son is also interested in gymnastics, both Lake Murray and the Charleston Twisters (Davita's Funtastic Gymnastics in Ladson) offer competitive boys' programs, as well as competitive girls' programs.
Yesterday the owner of my DD's dance and gymnastics center decided that we were having an open house in about 4 weeks. He asked that the team parents help out with the planning, but we have never been to one before. I have a few ideas, but I would like to hear recommendations on the do's and...
I have ordered quite a few for my DD from the next day shipment section. I always receive them within a couple of days. I had one issue with them a couple of years ago with a pin order that I never received, but the next day leo orders have been great.
Welcome to CB! I also have a Level 6 gymnast who I think is amazing :-) She is just starting her third year of gymnastics. Her first level 6 meet is in January. This group has been great, and they are very good with answering questions.
Welcome to the Crown of the Carolinas Here is the link to the event website. It shows some pictures of the facilities. Enjoy! I have only heard good things!
madigym00, it looks like we are going to be at 6 of the same meets.

Yes, the AAU routines for Level 5 are exactly the same as the USAG. The only difference is that they can use an airboard instead of a springboard for vault.
I have to agree about the level 5 music. Honestly, I can't wait until my DD reaches level 7. That way I can hear all kinds of music...
We just got back from Disney. It was a nice place to have a meet. The girls got to compete and then go play at all the parks.
The girls compete AAU after their USAG season is over. It is something fun they do over the summer. This year the AAU Age Group National meet was held at the ESPN...
That is awesome, especially since she is only 6. I remember how happy my DD was when she finally got hers. I think this is the hardest skill to learn for Level 4, so she is well on her way. How is your other DD doing?
I am sorry I am little late in getting my DD's AAU State meet results posted. It was much better than her USAG L5 State meet last month where she had 3 falls. This meet she managed to finish in the top 3 on every event.
Vault - 8.65 3rd place (Her vaults are definitely improving, but she...
My DD has her AAU L5 state meet Saturday. I am praying that it goes much better than her USAG state meet. She went from her best ever USAG meet of 37.025 (finishing 2nd by .025 out of 90 other girls) to her worst L5 meet (of course at states) falling during bars and twice on beam to get a...
She did a great job to just get back up on the beam so quickly after a major fall, especially at Regionals. I watched her scores on Friday. I was following one of our L7's that was in your DD's group. I really enjoyed the live scoring. Best of luck to her in L8.
