Hey fellow gym moms,
I was wondering if you have any recommendations on summer gymnastics camps for an optional gymnast. My DD will be competing Level 8 at the start of the 2015 season.
A couple of summers ago, she attended International Gymnastics Camp and had a good time but said it was too...
Any good summer camps you would suggest? Our gym used to go to Lake Owen..but that's closed now...when I was in gymnastics I went to Karolyi's summer camp and LOVED it. Where does everyone go?
We will be in the PA area over Thanksgiving and I viewed on the International Gymnastics Camp website that they offer a camp over the holiday.
It is 2 days (Friday and Saturday). My DD is 11 years old and is on Xcel Silver team.
Has anyone ever attended the Thanksgiving camp? Will my DD...
Hello fellow gymnastics moms & dads,
Our daughter went to flip fest last year and had a blast, the problem, IMHO, is that 1 week is just short of them really getting what the need out of such a camp. But two weeks is a lot of $$. Shoot one week at flip fest was a lot of $$$$..
With that said...
My daughter made TOPs national testing last year and as a result got invited to the August developmental Camp.
Her coach was pretty confident she would make TOPs again this year so I hesitated on going to the August camp. It is expensive to keep making the trip out, that is basically my...
We have decide last minute to go to Woodward next week. What do boys wear in the gym typically. He has 2 pairs of pommel pants that I wash often, three singlets and several tight fighting shirts he wears to the gym often. He has some athletic shorts that will work too but I need an idea of...
I have the opportunity to be a camp parent at t the last minute at Woodward next week. There is room for 7 YO level 5 DS. We would need to leave in 3 days so I dont have much time. I think he will love it. Anyone ever go as a camp parent?? Is it nuts to try to do this last minute?
Well, we just got him home. He had a great time! A few "newish" things:
Floor: FHS front full, worked arabian in the pit
Pommel : wu
Rings: double back onto a mat in the pit, worked hanging inlocate and handstand
Vault: front hand front tuck onto mat in pit
Pbars: continued to work peach...
My DD wants to go. She has seen the facility because of older siblings and she really wants to go EXCEPT she is just terrified of the idea of sleeping away from us. She really is a baby for her age but I don't believe in PUSHING kids into these situations too early. She is 9.5 yrs old, has never...
Each summer towards the end we have had a team camp. The first year my son was a level 4 and when for 4 hours 5 days that week and we paid about $80 (plus our regular monthly fees). Last year, DS was a level 4 and he went the whole day and it was an additional $100. This year, DS is a level 5...
It is her first camp ever (college gymnastics camp) and it is a sleep over. She was a nervous wreck. She was rooming with a girl from her old gym. We didn't see this other girl when we first arrived. DD kept going.. "What if she is sick, what if they didn't come, OMG, what if they were in a...
Does anyone know anything about this camp? Looking for something for DD next summer. I'm trying to find something that is strictly gymnastics & not $1000.
Hey there! I was hoping you all could help me out with some ideas. In a few weeks our gym will have their team camp. At the end of the camp they have a party/carnival. We are looking for some booth ideas for the carnival. Anyone else out there do this type of thing and have some unique and fun...
Do you think you get better coaching at a college camp or someplace like Woodward? Is it more concentrated gymnastics at a college camp or a gymnastics camp? Are the college camps geared towards younger kids or upper level optionals? Does going to a college camp do a gymnast any good when it...
Hey everyone, I'm 15 years old and I'm a beginner gymnast at level 2 almost level 3. I am looking at going to a gymnastics camp this summer, either International Gymnastics Camp or Woodward, but since I'm a beginner and older I'm afraid of being put in a group with a bunch of 6 year olds in the...
DD is going to Olympia Gymnastics Camp for the first time, and I just wondered if anyone had experiences to share; things to know, etc. She is very excited! She is level 5 this fall, 6 in Jan.
