Hi any recommendations for a good summer camp for my daughter to actually learn and get better smart skills? She will be a level 9 next season. Or maybe privates are better for the money? Thanks
Our daughter was just invited to one of the Elite Developmental Camps in Texas. Just wondering a few things:
1) Can parents go on the trip
Or is it dependent on age?
Our daughter is only 9.
2) What have your experiences been if you have gone.
3) I believe the camp we are attending is in...
I found out on Friday our gym offers a week long summer camp with 4 hours of gym time and 2 hours of crafts/snack/ lunch/free time. For $170. Of course Allison is wanting to go. For those of you whose kids have done gym camp, is there anything I should be aware of when deciding to let her do this?
My 6 year old daughter recently joined an xcel pre team. She is registered for a 2 week long gymnastics and other stuff camp this summer at a local community center. When I signed up for this camp a couple of months ago she was still in a beginner rec class but has since moved up and increased...
I was wondering if anyone had heard of a Summer Camp or Gymnast Workshop for Optional gymnasts where working on uneven bars was a focus? For example; getting a cast to handstand, improving giants, pirouette and release skills?
I did a search, but it didn't turn up much. We were originally considering IGC (my daughter has done the Thanksgiving clinics, which she enjoyed)... but then I heard about the Parkettes competitive camp. It's half the price and a little closer to us. I also think that maybe staying with a family...
I was wondering if anyone had any insight in weekend summer camps. We are going to the university of Arkansas camp and was also thinking about doing the Bart Conner weekend camp as well.
WELL, I have an 8 year old gymnast in my group. She has had hard time the last 4 months. She has anxiety and fear issues and doesn't believe in herself. Her strength level is lower than the others because she is a bit big for a gymnast etc. Well just last week I emailed with her mother about her...
I've seen several threads talking about summer camp, so I apologize for posting another.
At what age or level did you start sending your boys to camp? Mine is only 8, and I'm not quite ready to send him off by himself overnight. But, I think in another year or two (or three or four?) maybe it...
Ok, a bit overwhelmed with all the options... At first I was going to send dd to FlipFest because it's I just a 10hr drive. But I just found out about all these universities offering camps for cheaper.
Which is best? FF is about $750 and a college camp is less than $500 on average. What do you...
Hi all,
I am looking for something like a bar specific summer camp. DD's bars are (IMO) 1 to 2 levels below her other skills. Not because she is having problems with what she's being taught, it just seems that the focus isn't on bars. The gap seems to be growing instead of decreasing.
Are...
My daughter is wanting to go to OU Summer Camp this summer.
Anyone have any thoughts on it? I hear they put on a great camp & have a nice balance of workouts to play for the girls...
Anyway...Any thoughts shared would be appreciated.
This is a two part question. I know Karolyi's camp does coach training camps where the coaches who get trained can take kids from their gym. Any info about this? Is there a minimum age they can take and is that flexible? Next part is what are your thoughts on the regular camp?
I am researching summer camps for my dd. She is level 5/6. We are willing to travel. We are not too keen on sleepover camps. All advice is appreciated.
People who have been to Woodward only!!
Im a gymnast and yes I've been to their website and seen their magazines. I want to know from people who have been to Woodward, PA, how its like. What the groups, coaches, food, activities, and other stuff is like. Also did you improve from going there? Is...
I'm starting an Xcel team at my gym this summer and I'm super excited. However, this is my first foray into competitive coaching (I've been teaching rec classes for over four years now), so I've been thinking of ways to improve my abilities and get ready for this experience so I can be the best...
I'm thinking of sending my 9 year old L4 DD to the 3 day UCLA camp in July. She will not be staying overnight and has never been to a camp before. Has anyone's child ever been to UCLA before or to any college camp? I can't seem to find much info that describes the day and the supervision...
Hi parents/coaches/anyone,
Looking at some other threads on 'camps' and I have some general questions. Hope you can help!
- How common is it for gymnasts to attend a 'camp'? I don't mean the special 'earned' camps like TOPs or Future Stars that you earn by winning - but the ones you just sign...
