Kadee's first L4 meet went okay.
Vault was first..got her first vault, missed the second 8.4 10th out of 12
Bars, I THOUGHT she did real well comparatively 7.5 10th out of 12
Beam, poor baby weebled and wobbled through it, went off the wrong side twice on her dismount 6.4 12th out of 12 (the...
Im at a loss. I have a few level 4's that will not connect their robhs in the floor routine. This will be our 2nd meet and Im at a loss. I have tried everything from drills, spotting, and verbially supporting them. Any suggestions? Im getting to the point where if they dont start working harder...
Well Kadee has her first L4 meet this coming saturday. She never let it get to her last year as an L2. But this year, she is getting a little bit nervous. not because she is afraid of the skills themselves but she is afraid of letting her coaches and team down. She is still struggling on a...
My DD has been on preteam (L2 & L3) for about a year now. We found out yesterday that she is being moved up to Level 4 starting in January!! She is so happy and really excited about it :D!! It's nice to see that her hard work is paying off!
DD's L4 bars look good- almost perfect (can there really ever be "perfect' in gymnastics... in life in general- ha!) she's got the skills down and looking good, she's got the form, it all looks good except for the dismount. It's frustrating her to no end. She "gets" it- knows what to do but...
I have a level 4 that wants me to spot her on her ROBHS in her floor routine during our competition. A part of me wants too but yet I need her to not reley on me to always help her. Any thoughts?? Also whats the greater deduction a coach spotting or eliminating the BHS?
We survived the first Level 4 meet and it was surprisingly pretty good! She started on beam and did so awesome, 9.0 and got second (there were 14 girls 7 and under), then floor where she did pretty good, the leap step hop was alittle crazy and the roundoff back handspring had slightly bent...
My dd is a brand new Level 4 (moved up in June) and is doing awesome, and is entered in her first meet later this month. She still has not done her round off bhs on the floor and they are just now putting the routines together. I'm not sure her 6 year old brain can get the hang of all of this...
Well, the season is officially underway for DD. 1st meet of the season was yesterday and I think it's safe to say that she is fairly pleased with herself, at least on 3 of the 4 events. :p Bars went smoother than it did at Judges' Cup so she saw her score rise here: 9.45. Beam: ugh! She had...
She has had a kinda slow start this season. Had a lot of trouble with the mill circle (not to 100% of the time on that..has to losen her grip so her hands will slide with her). But here the past couple weeks she has really kicked it into high gear and those skills are coming right along. Its so...
I know it is common to repeat L4 and/or L5. I am working on putting together some information for our parents. Does anyone have approximate % rates for repeating these levels? Or, if your state separates out "new" from "2nd year" competitors, do you know numbers for the groups? Thanks!
I have 2 DD's in gym, ages 6 and 9. DD9 competed Level 4 last year and is going to start the season as a Level 5. DD6 competed as a Level 3 last year. Her coach says she is close enough on her kip that by December when competition season starts she'll have it. He is planning on having her...
Last year the GA state meet posted results in Level 4 age 6-7 Jr. and Level 4 age 6-7 Sr.
What did that mean? Did they put all the 6-7 year olds in order by birthday and cut them down the middle? Or does it have to do with how they scored at earlier meets?
We may need to visit Raleigh on and off. Is there a gym in Raleigh with both boys' and girls' teams that my kids could visit to stay in shape so they don't po their gym?
I just started working on bars. for the first time EVER. I can't do a pike well AT ALL. so do you have any tips? i'm FAR from a kip but i go to competition in 1 and a half months. are there any tips for at home practice?
I'm scared to do a front handspring on the vault. While doing a handstand...
:)May not seem like much to many but GD L4 6 y/o has had a difficult time learning to run; that fast consistent accelerating run that is required for vaulting. Well today she ran like the wind!:o
Hi everyone! This is my first post and I am hoping to get some advice from the seasoned parents out there! My son is 7 years old and competed level 4 last year. He had a very successful season, won some events, did all the bonuses, and is pretty much ready to move on to level 5. However, the...
PLEASE HELP ME UNDERSTAND!
My 9 year old daughter competed Level 4 for two seasons, from September to April. During this time, she doesn't "remember" training to do the kip. I am sure she performed basic drills to prepare for it, but she never tried doing it on the bars. So in the last 3...
Did anyone else have mixed feelings when their daughter was asked to join team? Did anyone else's dd move to team before she had all her L4 skills, and if so, how did it work out for her? Am I over thinking this?
I have other dds who have been competing for many years, and I kindof...
